Has anyone had any problems created with this?

Echo seemed to update their firmware for my audiofire 4 firewire sound card which started popping through playback after the .10 update and this was fixed.

There have been a few other problems but pretty insignificant. The isight seems to have become firewalled on amsn and I can't unfirewall it (although I probably could if I knew what I was doing...), I have to keep the audiofire console open all the time or audio will sometimes play a tone higher and slightly faster and my MBP seems to take longer to boot up (about double most times I think?).

Will these be fixed too? I rarely use external speakers through the built in audio so that is not a problem so much.

Did this happen to anyone else after installing the Audio Update?

Dude, that looks pretty scary! Have you tried reseting the PRAM? the application font for Finder is stored there. Restart and hold down command-option-p-r immediatly after the gong sound. Note that you'll lose some prefs, like double-click time, mouse speed, keyboard repeat speed...

MSN Messenger does this too?

Hiya

Semi-related but...I'm on a PowerBook G4 (10.4) at home and a PowerMac G4 (10.3) at work. I hear some beeps once in a while but they are mostly associated with MSN Messenger.

Anyone ever heard of MSN Messenger causing audio beeps too??

i knew it couldnt be my speakers that made a pop sound every few minutes. Sounds like your ears popping from pressure changes, but coming from speakers.

Does this address the "pop" associated with headphones when somethign like the volume's changed?

Well, it shouldn't be for JUST Intel MACS!! Because I've experienced this too as well. So it's just not for Intel-based macs, it's also G4(PPC) format as well too!:(

steve said they would continue to "support" PPC, he didn't say they would continue inovate, polish, take care of in great detail, etc. PPC.

c'mon dude, this is computer land.

thankfully the popping sound was fixing

on my mini, everytime the ac came on "pop" went off "pop" ,

any thing large electrical switching caused a loud pop.

My "pops" are from my speakers and sometimes iChat related which would make an annoying noise. Before it would never make those noises until 10.4.10 update a week and half ago.

You say with iChat it did this? It happened to me with MSN Messenger... are we on something here? IM apps related bug?

yep, me too

The 10.4.10 v1.1 includes the Audio Update. Basically, it is for those who haven't updated to 10.4.10 yet... it is a combo of 10.4.10 and the Audio Update. If you have 10.4.10 already, all you need is the audio download and you're updated:)
