Awesome!

To clear things up, Mac OS X 10.4.10 1.1 is for Intel 10.4.9 users who have not installed 10.4.10 and the Audio Update.

Also, I was hearing little pops out of my speakers. The Audio update worked great and I don't hear pops anymore.

:)

I just finished updating my mac and everything installed successfully and i restarted my macbook but i still get the "popping" noise. Any body else still have the problem?:apple:

i haven't had any popping so far since the update, but i'm now getting an intermittent static-y sound on my external speakers. the only other time i've ever heard it was, oddly enough, while this audio update was downloading and installing...

EDIT: ok, i spoke too soon. i am getting the popping too, still. so the update just made things worse.

More 10.4.10 woes

I got slammed with this update. My audio output from the MBP no longer works at all  I tried:

1/ reinstalling the Audio patch
2/ reinstalling the update
3/ verify disk
4/ fsck the disk
5/ repair permissions on the disk
6/ some other forum mentioned using Pacifist and reinstalling a 10.4.9 kext file but this didn't work because Pacifist couldn't find the kext file in the update pkg file.
and of course lots of rebootings in-between.

None of these worked. Is there no way to rollback these patches? Has anyone else with an Intel MBP experienced the problem of having no audio output at all with the patch? What is the way out? Reinstall? I thought I had left this kind of problem behind when I tried to ditch Windoze :(

I'm hearing so many conflicting stories about this update... some people had no problems with the original 10.4.10 update, some people saw the popping disappear with the Audio Update, some people still get the popping even with the Audio Update...

So... is anyone experiencing the popping after updating from 10.4.9 by using the 10.4.10 v1.1 Combo update? Is the 10.4.10 v1.1 Combo updater definitively safe or unsafe?

I'm still sitting on 10.4.9 on my 2.4ghz 15" MBP, a lil confused by the mixed messages on a variety of forums...
