Finally, this has been bugging me to no end (I hope this fixed what I think it does). Crosses fingers. =)

Nope, still broken... BOOOOOOO.

I think I'll wait until the Apple's server is free. I prefer to use the combo updates and it's 215 mb.

102mb/133mb.

Just a friendly reminder, PPC or Intel - after the update is done downloading and before you hit restart, you should open Disk Utility and Repair Your Permissions before you restart and after.

I go a bit further and whip out my Install Disc, and Repair both Permissions and the Disk.

Downloading and Installing now.. Let's cross fingers and hope nothing major happens like the last update..

My download went quite fast tho for this update.. I seen the popup and went to this board to check others who have installed and make sure nothing major happened and by the time I went to go check on the download process after reading this forum it was completed :) 64mb download.. restarting now......

And... an SMC firmware update for 17" MBPs

Interesting... after installing 10.4.7 on a 17" MBP, Software Update now shows "MacBook Pro SMC Firmware Update 1.1". The descriptions says it improves fan behavior, specifically on 17" MBPs. It wasn't there before.

I wasn't having any fan problems before, but let's give it a go and see what changes...

i am getting a very slow download and all over the place.
from 30 minutes to 2 hours.

to test i downloaded something else (small so it wouldnt tax the connection long) and had very fast downloads elsewhere.

i though isync update was really needed.....wonder why it is missing.

DON'T do this...by repairing permission according to BOM on the install disc, you can revert permissions to out-of-date ones. Always repair permissions according to the BOMs on your hard drive. Not that it actually does anything most of the time...it's a nice security blanket though.

crikey the world and his wife must be downloading this - the 39.3MB download is saying two hours on my 8Mb connection!

No update to iSync and I do not know about 15" MBP right click yet.

iSync IS updated to version 2.3...I don't use it, so I can't say how it performs.

Two updates to go 'til Leopard. I have my money on late this year or January of next.

Hahahahahahaha....there's been like 500 threads about this...they are NOT decimals...they're version numbers. 10.4.10 is not the same as 10.4.1...it has just been coincidence that the highest was 9.

Why do you say that -- two updates? How do you know how many updates there will be?
Because of a misguided belief that 10.4.9 must come out and must be the last update.

Updates could end here at 10.4.7 or continue to 10.4.36. There is no reason they must end at 10.4.9.

Is anyone having issues with their time and BT and AirPort icons not showing up anymore at the top right?

I set it manually and it still doesn't work!
