For days now I have not been able to access the "My Account" or "Check Order Status" pages at the Apple store, regular and edu. Anyone else having this issue? I get a Bad Server Request page.

Safari on X.3.9

Edit: I just tried with Explorer [yuk], and it worked. ?

I always get this error with safari on the apple store. No idea why. Other browsers work.

Apple Store Shipping?

"April 22, 2005 - 11:17 EDT A handful of MacMinute readers report receiving shipping notices for Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger from the online Apple Store and MacMall. Two readers even informed us that they've already received their ordered copy of Tiger."

I'm guessing this is a first come, first served kinda thing. Those that ordered the first day are starting to receive Tiger..

Maybe that is the case with MacMall, but I don't know about Apple.com. I ordered within the hour of when they made Tiger available, and it hasn't shipped to me.

If its the same problem I had then you need to delete all your cookies for the apple site and it should work fine, no idea why it happens.

thanks a lot, this clearned up the problem i was having. for months i couldn't access the order status page. strangely enough it was only a safari problem; using internet explorer would work.

Me too :p

AND
my pb 17 is due to arrive today - 3 days early -
Woo f*cking Hoo :D

Hey, my pb 17" (ordered sunday night) is due to arrive today (Currently "Out for Delivery" on ups.com). My queestion is this. I ordered the "up-to-date" flat pack 5 minutes after my order of the pb. does that count as a "pre-order" or does that only apply to retail boxes?

and .Mac question. They used to take $30 off your next .Mac year when you purchased a Mac. I am not due until October (as may of us old iTools users are). Will I save the $30 then? Or do you think (like I do) that the $70 is the new price (since it seems to be more ingrained in Tiger than it was in Panther)?

so tonight - I get to move from my iMac G3 to my PB G4. <vader>This will be a day long remembered.</vader>

Could anyone please tell me if Tiger ships with Java 5? I need it for work and until it's out on the Mac, I'm stuck with a PC for my contracts. I looked at the list of new features (http://www.apple.com/macosx/newfeatures/over200.html) and there's no mention of Java... :(
You're definately not the only person to ask about this, since the two have been developed together.

Java 5 requires 10.4 (and is in beta), but is not included on the 10.4 DVD (apparently). Apple won't say when when we'll see it.

It's currently only available for high-paying ADC members (since only they have 10.4 betas), but maybe in a few days when everyone has it they'll release a public beta. Here's hoping, anyway.

Well, yes and no. Tiger doesn't ship with it but it is offered as a "preview" download for developers:
http://developer.apple.com/java/faq/#anchor2
You might have to get an ADC account (maybe the free one will work?)
Presently, JDK 5 doesn't show up to free ADC members. Although I guess Apple could sniff your browser info to see what OS X version you're running.

My Tiger pre-order also has not yet shipped from Apple.
Mine either. "Processing order", which it's said for the last few days.

I'm debating whether I should upgrade to Tiger from Panther or not. I have an 800Mhz G3 iBook with a Radeon 9000 graphics card.

Will I see a major performance hit if I upgrade? any thoughts on that or directions to Apple info that can help me in that decision?

Thanks.

How'd you manage to get a Radeon 9000 shoved into an iBook G3?

hi, i have one general question:
how long does it normaly shows "preparing shippment" ??? i have this status now for about 5h and im just wonderin how long it takes to pack something...

Actually Java 5 is at the very end of beta. You might try installing Tiger next week, wait a week, and then try software update. You might be surprised.

That probably is a blanket term for it being packed up and ready to leave but Fed Ex or whoever is picking it up hasn't picked it up yet.

Whoever gets their Tiger first post some pictures so I can see if the CD has stripes!! Thanks. Just a thing I have about Tiger Stripes... :D

If thats true, that is a good sign because most of us have "order processing."

Apple Store Order Status broken...

I can't get to the order status page to see the state of mine. I get a really generic web server error.
"Bad Request Error

This error indicates that an invalid request was received."

Oh well, I guess I'll see what happens.
