Looks like some of you will be receiving Tiger just as I am purchasing a new computer with it pre-installed.

It would be cool but not realistic at this time.

bcsmith said:How much data do you think that they push out via Software Updater? I don't think that it is the bandwidth that is the issue, I think it is the DRM.
bcsmith said:Plus, most people would like to have a physical copy of their OS for installs. Also, in the event of a crash, it would be pretty difficult to fire up Software Updater...

That being said, I would love to see this someday...

(Apple menu -> About this Mac -> Click "Version 10.4" and it will display the build number)
Thanks in advance![]()

Apparently, Dashboard is activated like expose - you click a button (or a key) and the widgets switch-in, making your desktop into a temporary dashboard display. Then when you're done it switches the Dashboard layer out, bringing you back to whatever you were doing.
Is there a preference or something to make dashboard always-visible at 20% (or 10%) opacity?
It's kind of silly not to be able to see these widgets until you do something. It'd be much neater if they were visible all the time.
BTW, the Tiger UI seems to be about 15-20% faster then Panther on this 1ghz eMac I've got it running on. Very nice.
Most importantly, ASM still works! Yahoo!

AppleSupport: Hello?
Customer: Yeah I am downloading Tiger using BT and it is going real slow.
AppleSupport: Yes that is to be expected until you stop becoming a leech but lets check what ports are mapped through your NAT and firewall to insure you will get the best speed.
Customer: WTF, I am not a leech... I paid for this $^%& download... oh and NAT what?
