Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) Shipping

mine went from "Open" to "Processing Order", but so did my Final Cut Studio - which isn't supposed to ship until may 31st. I ordered Tiger the day it was announced. I just think we are getting a little too excited over here.. Most of us won't get it until the 28th or 29th.
 
looks like they weren't happy about the "GM leak" last week and decided to try and do some damage control!

well, it can't hurt to get it a little early, can it?

Desktop picture

Can the first to install please post a nice picture of the new default Tiger desktop image.

I prefered the Panther picture to the Jaguar and ?Puma/Cheetah ones
I still use it more often than most of the other backgrounds.

Oh and can someone confirm that the music for the intro video is actually the same **** one that was leaked?
 
Hmm... about the Tiger leak. What I've come to find is most people are more than willing to purchase a copy of Tiger. But delaying the release is just silly and this is what gets people. People are impatient and want what they want when they want it. If Tiger is ready, get the freaking thing out the door. I swear Apple's marketing team has their fingers up their butt!
 
I just called MacMall and they told me that Apple was shipping Tiger to distributors today and they were not shipping to individuals yet.

Why can't apple allow for an online download for Tiger and attach DRM to it so you wouldn't be able to install unless you have a apple id? That would be hot...maybe I should put a patent on that idea.

My Amazon order placed March 23 said shipping by end of May originally--now it says shipping estimate May 29. Probably just Apple's release date--I hope it comes earlier!

Same here - looks like someone's gonna loose their job; Wow, Is demand so high that they're having to free-up more bandwidth.... Well, looks like I cant purchase Tiger just yet..

Maybe this depends on location, because my last three Apple shipments (last being two weeks ago) came via FedEx.
 
is it illegal, to download the gold master now, and install it?
i paid a few weeks ago via money transfer, apple has the money. so this wouldn't be illegal?!

Whether or not you ordered Tiger downloading the GM would be illegal since the GM out there is illegal

Assuming you're in the United States, you've already broken a few copyright laws by downloading it (unless you're a total sleazebag/leech who doesn't upload anything when using BitTorrent). Good job!
 
WTF? It's still not seeded to us developers? I would certainly hope they make it available this weekend.

I just ordered 5 minutes ago from Amazon and my order confirmation says shipping 5/3. I have a feeling it will be even earlier though as their website says that it is being released on 4/29.

No we get at least one copy mailed to us for use as developers and by developer teams. For non developer use we buy copies as needed.

You want to host the download of 2+ GB of data by lots of users? ...and answer the support calls on why they can't get it burned to DVD... etc.

It would be cool but not realistic at this time.
