well at least this iWork update shows that apple doesnt only release things early in the day...

...Leopard 10.5.2 otherwise i will get frustrated and buy an AirPort Extreme base station to see if that fixes my airport problems... damn, thats what you want isnt it?!

I find it a bit surprising that I'm getting these updates actually. I just have a (now expired) trial version. The only reason I keep it installed is because I can still use numbers to make pretty 3d graphs :p

Does Apple ever do staggered releases?

i am desperately awaitung .2 too
i'm from germany, it's 10.45pm, i'm afraid i have to sleep now.
but i want to be one of the first to update. :(

i even mailed to steve. hopefully he will answer.

Maybe its because I have XSlimmed them, but after downloading (multiple times) the apps don't update. I'm now manually downloading...

If your trial has ended, you can still open things, and make documents, but i dont think you can print or save!!

I wonder if these updates are staggered so as to reduce load on their servers.

If they release 10.5.2 for everyone at once, no group of servers could handle the load of millions of OS X users downloading the updates simultaneously, so the right way to do it would be to have the updates show up at regular intervals for different areas of IP address space throughout the day.

Of course it'll probably be available for direct download at http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/ for everyone at once. :)

I think Apple has done staggered releases in the past. I've seen some updates come in at 10:00 PM EST before. Maybe 10.5.2 will be the same?

Although there are millions of user that are on OSX Leopard, how many do you think actually are checking and watching for this update. We are the select great population that are monitoring this (Mac Rumors Members and such). Not all the mom and pop users that own a Mac. I know the initial server load would be high, but that is only because all of us would be hitting it. Others would trickle in as their update software does random checks for updates when they have their Mac's turned on.

I just don't see the staggered push happening, but who knows it's up to Apple.

What time does Apple work to... is it 9 - 5....

As it's now 3:08PM in Cupertino as I write this.

Most tech companies really don't have standard office hours for programmers. Most likely Apple's employees are there at all odd hours of the day, so I don't see why a release couldn't come out later tonight.
