I'll just be over here holding my breath waiting for Leopard to come out already.

Seriously people just give it some time, its just the beginning of spring theres still plenty of time. Im almost certain that there is no chance of an october release. Tho im with you all, im holding my breath, but i wouldnt hold it too long cuz then youll never see it. It'll get here eventually.

If what digitimes is true about it being delayed till october because of vista i think that is a waste of time it would ruin mac's basically if you look at the requirements to install vista you need alot more then you would possibly need for lepord it would basically shadow leapord and take the stuff you need for a mac they should just keep boot camp with Xp on and not Vista and really i dont know why people even use boot camp if you want a PC OS then get a PC not a Mac i think thats just a waste

maybe apple are going to do the unthinkable

and release MAC OS for PC's:eek:

Darth Vader enters the room

"NOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo"

Early April Fools Joke?

As if Apple will delay due to Vista. Does this mean we won't see any Mac hardware updates until October? And for all the Pros waiting for new Mac Pros with Leopard + Photoshop CS3 and FCP6, will Apple make them wait until October...just for Leopard to be compatible with Vista? What a bunch of crap! Even if it were true, they'd release the OS first and then update Bootcamp later with a soft update.

I'm sorry who gives a C3@p about Vista, I'm already thinking about down grading to XP on my PC because I hate vista that much. at the end of the day, I'm happy with Tiger, Apple has a good OS, a dual boot is fine, if not better.

Folks, calm down.

When MR says "DigiTimes has been historically inaccurate" it's just being polite. It should read "DigiTimes has never been right, ever."

I don't pay any attention to anything DigiTimes says - iBook G5 in April '05 anyone? - and neither should any of you.

Yah, Chundles is right. Digitimes is really poor...

Maybe Apple's making it possible not just install Windows, but maybe other OSes as well? I'd like to try out Linux or something. The only way I can do that is using the whole drive for Linux and installing Mac OS X on an external drive or something. Would be nice if I can get Leopard on one partition, Windows on another, and Linux on a third. Times like this make me wish I had a Mac Pro w/ multiple hard drives. Also, it would be nice if I already had multiple partitions for my hard drive b4 using Boot Camp and wanted Windows, I can still do it. Now, if I have multiple partitions, it says I have to have 1 partition first. Or if I have Mac OS X & Windows setup already, I can't add more partitions. That sucks. I know, not everyone wants/needs multiple partitions on their hard drive, but it would be nice if we had it if we needed it.

No Way. Phooey

This has got to be one of these real leaks, from inside Apple, but leaked to send us all off track. (Kinda like Kevin .. from Digg announcing the 2-battery iPhone)

Quite simply, why on Earth would Apple delay their OS, so that it can have compatibility with a rival OS, that was already notoriously late?

It's a red herring.

It's hokum.

I imagine that the person that originated this bull, thought that it would be funny to suggest that Leopard is going to be late, to gain compatibility with Vista...which was very late.. Queue the inevitable conclusion....

My personal prediction is that it will be ready when it's ready. The day after it gets the go ahead, Apple will announce a special event for the following Tuesday.

True.

Also - :apple: would never delay something for a period of 9 months...

Even if they were late in developing compatability with Vista, new software updates would be released when it's ready - they wouldn't delay the entire operating system!

My best bet is third week in April. Just by a wild guess.

I could not wait for Leopard ...

:) and I bought Tiger for $119 (at J&R Music World.) With my five year old PowerBook G4 @ 667 MHz and 512 MB running 10.1.5, I definitely wanted to upgrade but what do I need 64 bit support for? My widgets don't make waves when I click to have them appear, and I talked myself into believing my beloved PowerBook simply isn't made for the Leopard extras.

I think Tiger max's out the full capabilities of the PowerBook. Any extra features Leopard has that Tiger does not probably won't function as expected anyway; no sense paying for funcions that won't perform on my particular machine. :apple:

The ripple effect is on G5s and up. Yes i was a bit dissapointed when my ibook did not make that little ripple effect too.

No Vista here - not even XP until I "have to".

Speaking as someone who will never run Vista (I'm reluctant even to upgrade form Win2K to XP) I would certainly hope this is a load of bull. I'm not buying Leopard to run Vista, I'm buying Leopard to run Leopard.

Look vista up in the dictionary...

vista |vist-a|
verb [ trans. ]
make (someone or something) late or slow : the train was delayed. • [ intrans. ] be late or slow; loiter : time being of the essence, they delayed no longer. • postpone or defer (an action) : he may decide to delay the next cut in interest rates.

I looks like an Apple easter egg if you ask me, because it doesn't match any of the known definitions for Vista listed from the major dictionaries. Even more telling, as I thought I read that OSX gets it's definitions from the American Heritage Dictionary, which is included on that link.

No Need to Fear

Michael Gartenberg, who spoke directly with Apple, assured us that Leopard is still scheduled to ship this Spring, and that the rumor mills are wrong again. April Fools day arrived early this year folks.....

I kinda agree. Mac OS should be about, well, Mac OS :p. Not everyone is going to want to install Vista. I for one really dont have any interest in installing Windows on my new MBP when Leopard is released. Apple needs to put the cap on it and ship it out! Fix boot camp as a download off the homepage!

GAarrraahahhhaaarrrrr RELEASE IT ALREADY

Nah gonna happen

Apple isn't gonna delay their OS to make sure Boot Camp works with Vista.. Boot Camp isn't even listed as a feature of Leopard to begin with.. that's a BEEG assumption on the part of the MacMedia that BootCamp will magically become part of the OS, but until Apple says so, it isn't a fact. If a delay is happening, it's to put in more *USEFUL* features for Mac users, not to ride the coattails of Redmonds on a less than spectacular Windows revision. Neegah PLEASE!!

Bootcamp already works with Vista. Just because the drivers aren't "Microsoft Certified" means ****. I can't tell you how many companies are release "Vista" software that does this. Apple can get them certified if they want, but regardless the final version of Vista works flawlessly with the current bootcamp, and is damn fast at networking, which is frankly embarassing.

Oh and for those of you who say this has anything to do with blu-ray are you joking? Damn just use google, it's a search engine.

I have a blu-ray drive in my Mac Pro tower right now. Works fine in OS X, and burns fine using the F**king disk utility.
