I'm trying to decide if it's worth waiting in line for as well. I called Best Buy, but they're not going to carry Leopard. What other major retailers might have it tomorrow?

It would be fun to get it at the Apple store, but it's a 45 minute drive, and then their's the line. Not sure if it's worth the hassel.

It would make more sense that these were staff t-shirts. I updated the story.

Leopard Tshirts

If those are the Apple Store Staff shirts.. they will be very jealous. These are the shirts we will be wearing tomorrow while we "wait in line for leopard" ... check them out :)

And Apple Finland...

appears to not give a stuff about getting the product to customers on the 26th:( You never know, it may appear by magic today but normally all Apple deliveries here are very slow :(

Despite ordering it within an hour of the appearance on Apple Store:

Hate to be stupid...but...

Did Apple really leave the aqua scroll bars?? I never saw anything saying they switched to the itunes style ones, and I can't believe they'd leave something like that out!:eek: I'll still be in line buying leopard tho (when the time comes (tomorrow still)!:p

oooooh I just can't sleep its just like christmas eve. I hope Fedex shows up bright and early....:D:apple::):eek:

Hi all,

Well, everything seems to be working fine, if not really well until...

I installed iLife, then I tried to do a software update and I keep getting this message:
The file “index-leopard.merged-1.sucatalog” couldn’t be found on the server “swscan.apple.com”.

I am guessing it is Apple's server and not my machine, but I am interested to know if any of you guys came or come across this problem.

Mmmmm. I just did a Software Update for my system 10.4.10 about an hour ago and it updated properly, so not sure if the server is the problem. BTW, the update was for some kind of iLife managing software. THAT might possibly be the reason for your probs.

This is what I'm getting... But note that for me, the update failed, and when I restarted, was convinced there was some kind of network problem even though there obviously isn't... I'll try again tomorrow...

Thanks for responding Thomas, however I don't think that's it.
Here is what I did.
1) Installed Leopard (ONLY LEOPARD)
2) Ran auto update (Just to see if there was already something new) and updated Remote Desktop Client to Version 3.2.1
3) (everything is running fine) Installed iLife '08
4) Ran auto update again and get the error.
5) I ran iPhoto and did and update from there, but of course, it takes you to the standard Software Update screen and I get the error.

GRR, I may have to re-install again!

yeah, Preview is a kick-ass application now! i love it!

a few drawbacks i've noticed so far (as i too have received it... um... because i live in Japan too):

1) Techtools Pro 4 does not work with Leopard
2) The dock magnification (bottom view) is a big sluggish
3) Photoshop CS3, Safari, Azureus are lightening fast
Care to run java -version?

I wish you'd explain it to me. Like many others I really have no idea what they are getting at.

Well, whenever I update to a new OS with so many new qualities (such a this update) my computer seems newer. It behaves differently (hopefully better) and has newer features the "old" computer didn't have. So the tag line makes perfect sense to me.

Happened exactly the same way to me. Unless you plan on doing a format+install it won't fix it, I tried ;)

If anyone knows a fix let me (us) know.

got home from uni at 12 pm to see that my big cat had arrived! upgraded in 20 mins (specs in sig). Leopard is fast! bloody fast!... spotlight gives a new meaning to to the word instant and quicklook is the best feature by far!

heres a screenie for you guys (sorry bout the timer had to do it!)
