Mac Pro 8800gt Are Shipping!

Mine just changed to Prepared for shipment 🙂
I'm really excited, my first mac. Ordered Jan 18, shipping to San Antonio TX.
I added the wireless card, wireless keyboard/mouse, and of course the 8800.

Hopefully the rest of you waiting won't be too far behind 😀

btw, my original arrival date was March 3, so I'm stoked!
 
Holy Crap! Just learned my order "Shipped Tonight"

So, just before hitting the sack (1:30am Eastern) I decide to hit "refresh" and i'm not kidding, the damn thing says "Shipped on: Feb 8, 2008 via FEDERAL EXPRESS." Click on the tracking link and see:

10:08 PM Package data transmitted to FedEx

Next logical move - log on to chase.com and verify any account activity - i see a pending charge in the $3,XXX range.

I really have to wonder if this had anything to do with my little call to Apple around 7:30pm-ish earlier tonight, where I was able to pay $30 to get my employee discounted purchase expedited to 2-3 day delivery?

My config:

Ordered: January 21st
Original Ship by: February 12th
Revised Delivery (from earlier tonight) February 18 to February 14th.
Now appears I might actually get it by Tuesday (2/12) or Wed (2/13) depending on when they count the first day of shipping.
**EDIT - Closer inspection of the FedEx Tracking info states: Estimated delivery Feb 12, 2008 by 7:00 PM **

Obviously, "Data being transferred to FedEx" and "Shipment picked up blah, blah, blah) are two different things, but i'll definitely be checking that Tracking info tomorrow morning and see if any progress was made. 😀
 
I know...I totally wasn't expecting anything to change at least until next week. It must have just updated cause I've been checking the damn page continuously since I got home from work three hours ago. I actually had to check the status twice and refresh twice to make sure I wasn't hallucinating.
 
Count me among the slightly less-pissed-off pre-Jan.-10th orderers ... mine just got "Prepared for Shipment." 😀

Now I doubt FedEx does anything with this on Saturday, so that means it should be out their door Monday and at my door Tuesday ... which is when my NewEgg hard drives and mouse should also arrive (RAM arrived this week).

I think I'll be taking next Tuesday off. 😉
 
No sooner posted than I just got an e-mail from Apple: "We wanted to let you know that your order has shipped." And my status on Apple's site changed in the last 3 minutes to "Shipped."

YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY

The FedEx number says delivery on Monday by 3:00 PM. There was a seminar I wanted to go to at 2:00, but, something tells me I'll have other things to occupy my time ... 😀

And for those keeping track, I ordered at 9:55 AM MST on Jan. 9th, through the ADC store, shipping to Colorado.

Interestingly, my credit card has yet to be charged. Either it's free, or AmEx is just slow on updating.

I see a charge like that on my credit card. Has anyone else seen that? Is it pre-auth or finial charge? I can't tell the difference just by looking at it on my account.

Only the cannon printer/scanner shows shipped. I got it way back in January, when I made the order. LOL

They charged my card earlier this morning though. Mr. P.S., I don't think my charge had a phone #, but some transactions do. I tried to logon but my credit card's website is down for maintenance until 3AM.
 
ya! mine shipped! today Feb 8th. arrives the 12th. paid next day. ordered the day of announcment.

argh, if it could have only shipped yesterday!
 
This whole shipped/prepped/not yet shipped is one giant raffle to Apple.

I think those of you who have prepped may either get shipped notices Saturday evening (~8pm-3am EST) or Monday evening (~8am-3am EST), even though it may have shipped early that afternoon. It all depends if Apple ships today (and I wouldn't see why not... FedEX still takes packages on Saturday, last time i checked).

I'm just thinking about that... My billing and shipping addresses are different. Could it be a reason for the late shipping... as I said, I'm just wondering.

If there was any logic to how they're shipping things, you'd think 2 computers going to the same rock out in the middle of the pacific would be shipped at the same time.
 
You guys think they're gonna send out another batch today? No clue if Apple ships orders on Saturdays, I know FedEx does.
