:) Ordered Feb 8 - MAcPro - only change was to add 8800gt, airport extreme, and wireless mouse - it said at the time 2-3 weeks - just got an email today - it has shipped and I will receive Feb 14 (live in Texas) - I have the Fed Ex tracking number - WoW - things can change fast!

I ordered mine on Feb 4, but with a 500 GB drive, no wireless mouse. Boy am I regretting that 500 GB drive... since when are those exotic or hard to get? I did see something about dodgy firmware on an older version they'd been using, and of course I wouldn't want one of those, 'cause then I'd be on the "My 500 GB drive is a brick" thread.

*Sigh* Oh, well.

"Not yet shipped"

Been told mine iwill be coming from Calif.

I ordered on 1/17 and still nada!...What bugs me is when I called and they advised mine was coming from Calif. and they had no way of checking the reason for the hold up.

They really have no idea what's going on nor can they see exactly where or how your order will be fulfilled. All they see is what you see, plus a few mod abilities to approve/modify the order/shipping. Other than that, they have no idea as far as when/how your order will go out.

Yep, I ordered the 500 gig drive and as far as I can tell that's the reason I'm being held up. Actually according to Apple I have a Feb 6th order date.

Let's hope they get some more drives in short order.

Still nothing.

On phone with Apple right now. Was given the $150.00 off. Was told my a supervisor that the computer WOULD ship by the 15th. He even annotated my account history with his guarantee so that I could complain on Monday if it doesn't ship. They were very polite and apologetic, and they were quite mystified that a computer ordered so early still hadn't shipped.

They have no idea what has gone wrong, if in fact anything is wrong.

My computer, FWIW, is coming from California, not China.

This just keeps getting stranger.

Any chance you want to PM me your order #? I called this morning and tried similar complaints and even asked about the $150 off others were getting and was told they knew nothing about it. The lady said if I called back with an order # of someone else that had it done then I could probably get it.

Mine is currently on a truck awaiting arrival, but I ordered on the 15th or 16th of January and understand your frustration. This is what I learned about Apple customer service reps during my Mac Pro ordering process:

1) They will lie to you.
2) They will give you incorrect information, because they don't know any better.
3) By and large, they know far less than 90% of the people in this forum.
4) They are all wildly inconsistent. If someone won't give you free overnight shipping or 150 off, hang up and call back. You can also ask for a manager.

Apple customer service representatives, at least the vast majority, are worse than the average DMV employee.

I can certainly vouch for the inconsistency of the phone support. I have tried to be patient, and I am always very pleasant with whomever I am speaking to.

Still no love, BTW.

Obviously, the Karmic Avenger is schmaking me around a bit for past behavior. I will probably end up being the last guy here talking to the empty halls of this once lively thread.

Not true. I'll be right beside you. And click, click, clicking away to the order status screen.
Man, will I be glad not to come back here again.

Hello All. Been reading here for nine months. I think this is my second post. I have always been "just a reader" but I really can't resist this because I am so excited. My Mac Pro - my first Mac ever - is "PREPARED FOR SHIPMENT!" I ordered a 3.0 with nVidia card and wifi on Jan. 21 with an original ship date of Feb. 27 and arrival March 3. Hopefully I will beat that since I am "prepared" now.

Well, misery loves company.;)

Of course, I have had other brothers standing by me these last few days and they are nowhere to be seen anymore.

They just disappear. gone. And I am still here...

I'm still here. I haven't received my machine yet, but when I do... :D

...My Mac Pro - my first Mac ever - is "PREPARED FOR SHIPMENT!" I ordered ..on Jan. 21 with an original ship date of Feb. 27 and arrival March 3.

My first Mac ever, also. I've used both 68k- and PPC-based Macs to some extent in the past (perhaps as much as a year's worth of total usage time, using machines I didn't personally own) but I've never done anything more than briefly play around with OS X on machines on display in stores.

My status: Ordered 15 Jan: 3.2 Ghz 8 core 2x1gb 1TB disk (w/ 8800 GT, of course.) Fulfillment status changed to "Prepared for shipment" last Saturday. FedEx picked it up (finally) late Monday from Fullerton, CA. FedEx tracking now says "Feb 12, 2008 - 11:46 AM - Arrived at FedEx location - OAKLAND, CA." It should arrive in Petaluma sometime this evening, or very early tomorrow morning, and be delivered to my office in north Marin county tomorrow in the early afternoon.

My additional 12gb ram from OWC arrived yesterday.

The charge is pending on my credit card. I called and preauthorized it. I was really hoping for a late night tonight or tomorrow ship date (it is my birthday after all). That may be wishful thinking. I have been waiting to order my RAM so I would be in their 15 day return time. I guess the warranty is still in effect after that though. Maybe it is because I already spent so much money on stuff I either dont have yet or have but cannot use yet - like the FCS2, Logic Studio and Shake that has been sitting here on my desk for over two weeks. Yeah, they rushed my software right out the door. Looking forward to it.

I called and Stacy says within 24-48 hours. She said it's sitting in Shanghai on a pallet waiting to be sent out.

Mine went to prepared for shipment this morning and I am really hoping it ships. Soon.

**** READ YOUR POST WRONG SRy... I thought it said that Mr. PS had gotten his Mac Pro shipped...which really ticked me off LOL:):)
