I don;t know what to tell you, but I do feel your pain. And you are SO entitled to call Apple regarding this matter seriously. I have to wait till tomorrow for my MP 8800, 500MB, ordered Jan 15th.
I really feel your pain man. CALL APPLE. I even sent them a mail regarding this problem. And told them that Apple has changed. They seem to treat us like nothing. I miss apple the way they used to be.

Hey my Mac Pro w/ 8800 just shipped, but when I click the tracking number Fed Ex says no information available. Anyone else have this happen? I thought it was because I checked it too soon after shipment, but it was shipped yesterday and still no information.
It normally takes a while for the systems to update and the package to leave Apple and be picked up by your courier. This happens with TNT over here in the UK. Enjoy your new computer!

I ordered on 1/17....500GB HD, 8800 card..2 superdrives...and I called them today and all they would say is that it was being held up for a part that they are awaiting delivery on and they say they have no knowledge of what that part is.

I ordered 2.8 Octo with an 8800, 2 Super drives with a 750GB HD on 2/26. Mine shipped yesterday with a scheduled delivery date of Monday.
If the only apparent difference is the hard drive then something is wrong.
I would contact Apple and speak (in a calm voice) a supervisor. Explain that others ordered after yours with the above configurations have shipped. IMHO yours has been lost by someone coding something wrong.
No notice for mine either... this is royally not fair. They should pack my MP with an Ipod Touch to make up. I already got 2-3 days delivery & 75 off... but hey! That was for the wait I had to endure... not the one to come. My shipping date is the 19 ... (6 days)... When people ordering today get it in 5 days max!
Its been common, in fact it took four days for my MP to FEDEX to start tracking after Apple said it was shipped, but a weekend was involved. Apparently Apple often drops them off at the FEDEX Hub. So it took four days from it being boxed up and ready to go untill it showed up at FEDEX. For others it happens imediately.
I've had a "prepared for shipping" now since 9:30 am mst.
And that was after getting the Apple support guy to confirm my credit card while I was on the phone (the credit card had blocked Apple 3 times over 18 hours before I got it straightened out.
I think "prepared for shipping" means someone is finally starting the assembly process.
It is definitely FUBAR in Apple Pro shipping land.

Mine changed to Shipping hours after it actually shipped. There's a lag there.
What do you mean? Mine haven't budged since my order. It's still "not shipped yet". Are you saying that you have no shipping date ahead?

Don't ask why, but I decided to check my order status this morning and guess what - now it says prepared for shipment - woo hoo!!! Oh yeah, shipping method is "Overnight".
The only downside to this process is that since this is a replacement emails regarding the details aren't sent to me but to apple since they were the ones who placed the order. I'd like to think that by Saturday the local store would have my new box.
Do the carriers do Saturday delivery? If not, it's going to be a long weekend especially since Monday is President's Day and I'm not sure they'd be delivering that day either.

And they'll announce multi-touch ACDs! Doesn't it just make sense? You release an SDK for multi-touch platforms, so you also make your 20/23/30 inch displays fully multitouch!

I placed my order January 9, it shipped out on February 9, and February 9th was also the most recent time the Fedex tracking page was updated.
Is this normal? Fedex estimated delivery since Feb 9 has been Feb 15... which is tomorrow. I hope it didn't fall off the truck

It's not impossible... If you live close to a large FedEx facility, they may have one truck take it almost all the way, and taking several days to get there, without any intermediate updates on the shipping status.
