Has your Jan. order shipped yet?

As the person who started this thread I would not be surprised if I was the last to change

No joy here either. I ordered 20JAN, and the only thing I changed was the HDD and the 8800GT, and my ship date is 20FEB. They did upgrade me to overnight shipping, but that doesn't help much. I may call again tomorrow to ask about it.

I have a MacBook Air on the way too, and it's supposed to ship on Tuesday.

Wish I could have gotten them at the same time. I ordered them both at the same time, along with a Time Capsule, and the shipments are spread over a six-week time period. I'm thinking that I might just leave the Air in the box until I get the Pro up and running.

But hey, I'm using a 12" Powerbook that I've had for 4 years, and a PC that I've had for 4 years, so another week isn't THAT bad...

Shipping notice

Got the email from Apple--mine is shipping. Previously scheduled for shipment on 2/22 for delivery on 2/28 (ordered 1/16). Now it shipped 2/10 for delivery 2/12.

I didn't call and ask for a discount or expedited shipping, but apparently I got the shipment upgrade.

Also, bofa froze my credit card thinking my order was fraudulent. They called and left a message. I called them back and straightened everything out.

So it will be here on tues. Hope everyone gets theres soon!

Still nothing here on a Jan 15th order. I called today hoping maybe I'd get a $150 discount or something but was just told that it might be because of built to order customization, and that was it.

A customer service lady I spoke with said all Mac Pros and MB Airs get expedited shipping.

That seems to be a recurring problem when many people order computers these days. I am getting tired of having to call my CC company to authorize my card for purchases in general.

Not Yet Shipping for me. Ordered January 15th.

Two 2.8GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeo
2GB (2x1GB)
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT 512MB
500GB 7200-rpm Serial ATA 3Gb

AirPort Extreme Card (Wi-Fi)
APPLE WIRELESS MIGHTY MOUSE
WIRED KYBRD/MAC OS X
Country Kit

:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

It has got to be the 500GB HD delaying most orders, it HAS to be it, there's nothing else, 100% certain.

I'm in Foxboro(right on the Mansfield line actually). I ordered on Jan 19th, and am getting a stock machine except for the 8800 and a wi-fi card.

I'm in W. Mansfield, down School Street, about 4 mi south of you, which would explain why mine hasn't shipped yet.
Ordered mine on 1/16. Must be the 500gb drive though it's hard to believe they ran out of those.

South shore, no computer.
Maybe the computer gods are aligned with the football gods.:(

I, too, upgraded to the 500.

And I, too, am still "not yet shipped". Ordered Jan 10th!

Boy, do I wish I hadn't upgraded the drive.

still waiting...

Yeah... considering it would've been cheaper to get one from NewEgg or so and putting it in yourself anyway... SIGH.

Yes, I started to believe that is 500 upgrade as well. I have 8800 and ordered on Jan 15th. For those who are getting shipment earlier than me didn't seem to order 500. But they ordered 8800.
By the way, I still have no words from Apple...

I have to agree with you. It's like they ordered 5 500GB hard drives, shipped those out, and are sitting on the rest.

I could have upgraded myself!

Mine still hasn't shipped and I ordered on Jan 15th. I didn't upgrade the HD, it must be where I live.

Two 2.8GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeo
2GB (2x1GB)
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT 512MB
320GB 7200-rpm Serial ATA 3Gb
One 16x SuperDrive
APPLE MIGHTY MOUSE
WIRED KYBRD/MAC OS X
Country Kit

As I'm writing this, I'm on the phone with an Apple's rep and I told him again how disappointing the shipping treatment is. I already had a 2-3 day delivery from my first call and now got 75$ off.

It makes it easier a bit to wait.

*** Just checked my specs and my total before taxes... is that normal?

Two 2.8GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeo
2GB (2x1GB)
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT 512MB
320GB 7200-rpm Serial ATA 3Gb
One 16x SuperDrive
AirPort Extreme Card (Wi-Fi)
APPLE WIRELESS MIGHTY MOUSE
WIRELESS KEYBD/ OS X-CAN.
Country Kit

Total: $2,904.00 (with the 75$ off)

But on the website it's $3,149.00 ... looks like I'm saving $245

Well, when you go to the Apple store and configure a Mac Pro with stock 320GB HDD and an 8800, it changes the ship time from "Within 24 hours" to "7-10 business days". When you change the HDD to a 500GB, but leave the video card stock, it changes from "Within 24 hours" to "5-7 business days". That would lead me to believe that the bottleneck is still the 8800.

Just my reasoning...

Nah, as I posted a few days ago in another similar thread, it was 7-10 days ONLY for the 500GB HD upgrade. The status might've changed now, a few days later, but it's still the culprit. They might actually be running short on standard HDs now, heh.

Definitely starting to lose hope that it'll get shipped before my schedules ship date... Feb 15th - ordered Jan 25th. And people who ordered in early Feb are getting shipment notifications...

The really frustrating part of the whole 500gb upgrade slowdown is that, when initially ordering, that upgrade only increased the wait by 1-2 days.

So between then and now (3, almost 4 weeks) they've KNOWN FULL WELL how many orders were in with 500GB upgrades, and have had A MONTH to stock up while waiting on the 8800 GT to be ready for shipment... but instead, they've mysteriously gone from being stocked up to being short.

There's no excuse for that slowing down their orders, none! They've had plenty of time to have it all ready to go, and instead have managed to become backlogged when before they were just fine and dandy and plenty well stocked.

Either it's negligence/incompetence on someone's part, or maybe there's a worldwide shortage of generic 500 GB HDD's now?
