Mac Pro 8800gt Aren't Shipping For Me! (Jan orders)

Still no love here...

Ordered Jan 20 and still no confirmation. Scheduled to ship on Feb 20.

I am wondering since my ship date has always been set at Feb 20, Apple is just going to let that date stick as it is only 11 days away. This way they can accommodate all those others that ordered after me!!! Makes sense....NOT!!!

I was not real thrilled when I was told it would ship in 3-5 weeks back when I ordered it...and really not thrilled now with so many getting theirs before me...:confused:

My ship date is set for the 20th also
So I'm hoping they do it sooner than the date.
But who knows, you may be right.

You ordered 4 days after me and yours is shipping a day sooner than mine. :eek: And you think you get no love? :(

I'm starting to wonder if those set to deliver on the 20th are a separate shipment that's backed up/coming from somewhere else... something... it seems that everyone who hasn't gotten shipped yet, their ship date is Feb. 20th...

Me included. Ordered Jan 14th, ship Feb. 20th.

Maybe I'm just crazy from days of refreshing, obsessive checking... or maybe I'm just grasping for straws.

Haha... Believe me, I know the feeling.

I've been grasping at every straw (or straw shaped item) I could in the last couple of days.

I'm going to need a vacation when this is all over.

Ordered Jan 10.

This is really starting to p$#$ me off!

I am not a patient man in normal circumstances, and watching people be happy about machines ordered weeks after me is quite annoying, not that I begrudge anyone else's happiness, but you know...

I hear ya...even though you ordered 10 days before me with a ship date only 5 days before me. I need my Mac Pro even more now as my PC died a slow death and I do major educational research!

I really don't understand Apple. They have to have a way to figure out what happened, but they refuse to tell people. With all the calls they're getting you would think they would tell the call center what's up. :confused:

The vacation comes when the computer comes. :) ... Consider the following ...

Mail-Order Bride: Apple finally updates to a new model and you order right away.

Engagement: The 4-6 week wait for the computer. (Or 5-days for some people :mad: )

Wedding: FedEx, the Bride's Maid (or Best Man depending) brings the computer to your doorstop, you sign the marriage license part 1 (the delivery). You peel back the bride's veil (open the box) and kiss. Many photos are taken to remember the special day.

Reception: The joy of the unboxing ceremony is over with, and now you two can celebrate with all your peripheral friends as you get set up.

Wedding Night: Alone together, you bask in the glow of her monitor, after you installed your hard drive (and other internals, like extra RAM), and smile, happy that you can finally be with the object of your affection.

Honeymoon: Installing software, running benchmarks, and figuring out all the quirks and features.

Married Life: Eventually, she becomes just another tool for you to use and abuse, always looking for the latest model that will eventually replace her.

It almost feels like there are so many sales call centers out there and randomly sending in orders to a que. Each build center randomly pulls orders out of a que and builds them (BTO that is), with no method to the madness! The thing I can not understand is how there are folks here who have the same order date but different ship dates...some earlier and some later! Not to mention those who just ordered a few days ago and have confirmations.

...my face hurts from all the hand-to-face slaps.

Can't update the poll, but mine went to "Prepared for shipment" tonight. Order date: Jan 15, 2008 at 11:54 AM PST. Should have it by Wednesday!

I'm in Milpitas...North East corner of San Jose, CA.

I called Apple twice, a day apart, and both times got two very sympathetic ladies. The first one gave me free two day shipping, the last one gave me a $150 discount. :D

Basically, I gave them my sob story about "How Unfair Is this? Those who order after me are getting them sooner... " :p
Just make sure not to get angry at them as they are just the messengers and have them enter into their system that you're upset on how apple is mistreating their loyal followers.

Worked like a charm for me! :D

Has now shipped, Expected delivery Feb 12th! :D

This is going to be a busy week. Got 2x 150g Raptors on the way (separate shipments), a new uber MacPro, 8gig RAM, and it's my B-Day! Picked up a new UPS, CyberPower 1500AVRLCD, for the new rig.
 
Ok, I think I'm confused. I thought these systems were being assembled in China and FedEx'd from there with the tracking number originating from there.
I guess I wasn't paying enough attention to the fact that everything lands in Fullerton and then gets FedEx'd from there.

Well, at least my year++ long wait for a new desktop machine is almost over!
I think my MacBook Pro 15" SR is waiting for its big bro show up so that it can sleep for a while; it's been powered on since I got it last july!

My Jan 21 order still hasn't shipped. At least no update on the website. My Amex has been charged for the full charge amount since thursday, but it hasn't posted.

My theory is because I ordered a Time Capsule (ships Feb 29), APP for the mac pro and the 8800 mac pro, all 3 show as "not shipped". I'm hoping monday I get the email saying its on the way and it shows up tuesday or wednesday.

I want my bloody valentine here now!!!

wow interesting! I wonder how many trucks they are using to pick up the mac pros from the warehouse to go to the distribution centre?
Your pick up time was 2:22 and mine was at 4:14.
