@iwannaknow

you yelling at other users and saying how they are attacking your valid opinion and just being fanboys.
Dear, if I were yelling, my posts would be in all CAPs. But you are correct about my responses taking rude, immature comments to task for wasting my time and for being unnecessarily obnoxious. I snapped.

@iwannaknow

...it sounds to me like:

A) the Macbook Pro is possibly not the right device for you

and

B) this forum is definitely not the right place for you.

No, not attacking my opinion, but the opinions of others, most especially the person who posted the initial comment that started this thread. I didn't give an opinion, you see. I never made it that far before I grew fed up with the troll-like flaming and expressed my opinion about that, and about the positive, helpful posts too. You aren't really reading are you? Just scanning looking for something to be snide about.

BTW, I own multiple Macbook Pros, as well as iMac and Dell desktops, plus too many other Apple products and sundry electronics than is probably rational, so you're off base on that one.

Your understanding the reasoning of how and why other people purchase and use items isn't necessary or important. You don't need to understand or share their values, desires, and habits in order to accept they are merely different from your own, and you might be of help by making suggestions that will get them closer to their goals instead of insulting them.

You're being ridiculous, and missing the point. 1) How you use your laptop and how I use mine are different. Therefore, we have differing needs. One is not superior or inferior to the other. You, however, think and communicate from the assumption that your way is the only and best way, and therefore is the only way that matters. 2) You have no idea what my opinion regarding the rMBPro is because I've not stated an opinion about it. What I did share is that these juvenile, aggressive responses are tedious to slog through and I am sick of them. I'd like to see more grownups in these forums.

I'm noticing that your entire posting history here is you yelling at other users and saying how they are attacking your valid opinion and just being fanboys.....it sounds to me like:

and

Want to know the best solution to your problem of "rude, immature comments". Stop posting your immature and thick headed responses. Or better yet...just stop visiting this forum. As I said, it is obviously not the best place for you.

There was nothing remotely "snarky" about my comment.

It wouldn't have been if you hadn't felt the need to tell the person she or he was wrong because "most other" people are happy (which you don't actually know, considering there are millions of Apple users). Granted, the post had useful information in it, which I acknowledged, but like I said, aside from you and your personal experience, whether other people are happy with what the OP is doesn't matter, so it is really a subtle put-down. Now, I would have been interested in reading what you think about it based upon your own use.

If it's an industry standard, why is it missing on the Airs? Also, how do you fit an Ethernet port on the MBPR without making it look out of place with the rest of the chassis?

Use the screen at 2880 x 1800, not any of the HiDPI settings, and certainly not the "Best for Retina" setting.

The Airs isn't a professional business machine. It's always been for lighter use.

I understand. You don't like it when rude brats, condescending fanboys, and flamers are talked to directly about their bad behavior. Sorry, it doesn't mean I don't belong.

I don't understand the no advantage at best for retina setting. The advantage is 2880x1800 resolution! Sure the icons are the same size, but they are 1024x1024 resolution! As for the ethernet port. That would have made the unit larger, and most people are very happy with the new form factor. They sell a TB adapter which will give you all the bandwidth you need. It is only $29 so it's not a huge expense.

I don't see anywhere in there saying that the person was wrong about ANYTHING, only that the advantage is higher resolution.

Are you done raging yet? Or are you going to continue? If this makes you feel better I can continue to respond to your inane comments, but it's getting boring.

Sorry if you're view of the "average" laptop user is a lazy desktop user...but I disagree.

I wrote absolutely nothing like that. You made that up in your own mind, which is an indication of how your mind works. It's a good example of something to look at, given it came from you, not me, but you attributed it to me.

His analogy was perfectly suited to your complaints. You are just upset that people are flocking to agree with your flawed opinion.

But I am not the OP. They were not my complaints.

Then WHY do you keep coming back to rage your point???? Give up already! You are just coming off as annoying. Actually, why do I keep responding? I'm done. Have fun shouting at walls.

Let me get this straight. You're bitching tha Apple didn't include 802.11ac? Really? Only one laptop is currently shipping that I'm aware of supports 802.11ac -- the Asus G75VW. And 802.11ac routers are just starting to hit the streets. I think it remains to be seen if very thin laptops will be able to squeeze in the number of antennas 802.11ac needs to reach full speed.

As for the Ethernet dongle. The thing is tiny. Much smaller than my retractable Cat5 cable.

If the machine becomes so thin and light it can't do as much, can it really still be considered a Pro machine? If not, then I'm wondering about Apple selling it as one. I am going to have to rethink my next laptop purchase then. Bummer.

Exactly. (Although, the word "rage" is a little much, at least in regard to me anyway. I'm not using multiple question marks and exclamation marks. But "fury" isn't in my username either.) Goodnight.

You can feel mad about the screen but for the other points you should have researched before dropping 2k+ on a retina macbook pro. That is your fault for not knowing it had ethernet or how many usb ports it has....
