In August the Euro just slipped below $1 for the first time in its history.
Euro to Dollar History Chart
If Apple wanted to sell $1,000 USD computer in Europe 8 years ago when the Euro cost an average of $1.35, they needed to charge 740 Euros. Two years ago when the Euro cost around $1.20, they needed to charge 833 Euros for the same cost Mac. Now with the Euro at 99 cents, they need to charge 1014 Euros for that same cost Mac.
And this doesn't account for shipping duties/tariffs and localization costs. But by all means blame Apple for the decline in the Euro and not the economic policies of your European politicians. After all, you didn't want me to tell you the truth.
Though I'm sure that them forcing Apple to build custom USB C iPhones in Europe is going to make them cheaper, lol.
