Well, yeah...

My 2017 MBP, used for many hours a day over the last two years, continues to delight. Beautiful screen, fast, outstanding keyboard that lets me type faster and more accurately, great I/O, reliable, all in a compact and lightweight package.

As my MBP continues to exceed my expectations, why would I be in the market for another one? Maybe in a few years.

Apple are you hungry enough? You could blow them away with such little effort! Don't be so pigheaded.

Please make a system people want.
  • The Monarch Butterfly has flown! Scissors are reliable & quiet! Don't ruin them when you redesign it this time.
  • Serviceable system - Even MS see's the light!
  • Upgradable RAM & Storage (2nd drive) Really need to embrace M.2 SSD's for second drive (T2 primary)
  • Cooling & Power! The CPU needs better cooling to get what it's designed to offer for performance. I shouldn't need to throw my system in an Ice box for a long vid render as the AC charger & battery can't offer the needed power to run it at room temp.
  • Ports! Back onboard! Please give us two USB-A ports with the four USB-C ports modify the back USB-C ports so a MagSafe plug can be flush mounted with a charging LED! And lastly give us Ethernet & SD card support. Even MS see's the beauty of a magnetically attached power connection (which you did first! And then abandoned!) and they have USB-A & SD support onboard in their Surface units!
I'm tired of waiting if this next series doesn't offer what I need I'm moving on.

I wouldn’t call myself a super user or a gamer. Just use my MacBook Pro for school and basic tasks. I usually keep my Macs for years. Where I see people buy a 3-400 dollar laptops from Walmart or such and need to buy another within a year or so. I believe a lot of it is the market and how people buy computers.

These numbers show that Microsoft took the market from other windows manufacturers, but not Apple.

- Butterfly keyboard is better,
- USBA is dead,
- Magsafe was nigthmare. Always fell off at the wrong time.

"Apple's worldwide Mac shipments were down in the third quarter of 2019, according to new preliminary Pc shipping estimates shared this afternoon by Gartner.

During the quarter, Apple shipped an estimated 5.1 million Macs, down from 5.3 million in the third quarter of 2018, marking a 3.7 percent drop in shipments. Apple's marketshare also declined slightly, dropping from 7.9 percent to 7.5 percent"

Key words...

Non upgradeable RAM, non upgradeable storage, mediocre GPUs even in top speced models, questionable keyboard quality, inadequate thermal solutions, no physical ESC key...and so forth and so on.

And then you’re wondering why people are not buying?

worse keyboard Apple ever designed. A useless touchbar.

And add, way overpriced for what they are delivering.
Under Tim Cook the quality and design of the entire computer line up has become pathetic.

So sad Apple does not care about its computer line up anymore.

I would prices to buy a macOS laptop but not at those astronomical prices with no chance of user changable ram and storage, no ports, no matte screen option, dicky keyboard, poor thermal performance.
Also would like to buy a macOS desktop with decent graphics performance and thermal design but not at Mac Pro prices.

I'll be happy chappy even with macOS on a garden variety Dell Inspiron.

They are stupid that their computers have very limited uses. Blocking Nvidia GPU is already a nightmare for most users. Do they even aware that Nvidia has more than 70% of market share while AMD still suffering from lack of performance compared to Nvidia? At least they supposed to let people use Nvidia.

Your loss. It's the best keyboard I've ever written on.
not really my loss, i have a 2018 and a 2016 mbp 15inch, everytime i need to do something remotely serious i use a external keyboard.

i agree, i got a perfectly good gtx 1080 sitting here that i can't use, had to go and spend an extra 400 bucks for a amd 5700 XT

CPUs always a year behind, keyboard i had to replace a total of five times in two computers over the last four years (MB and MB Pro), USB-C ports that become lose enough to stop charging after 6 months (MBP/replaced twice already), a screen that never changes in resolution nor size (bezel) in so many years, SSDs that cost 4x retail price, same with RAM, integrated **** graphics or the worst graphic chips money can buy as dedicated GPUs, high prices, same boring design for a decade.

I am sorry. But it's hard to get excited about 'upgrades'.

Especially when all PCs have touchscreen that allow you to scroll around a website like an iPad and the MBP has a useless touch bar I have never ever ever used besides for the (****) ESC key and the crappy brightness and volume controls. Really really useless.

While you have been lucky not hitting the pitfalls many of us have!

I had a '16 which the keyboard failed within 4 months, Got a second and in two more months it died. Apple gave me a '17 model and the display died! FlexGate. I returned it and got my money back and bought a used 2015 which was a bit faster!

The keyboard noise bothered me more than the short throw, But, on long typing sessions my fingertips did get a bit numb.

USB-A is not dead! Many of us photographers/videographers use tons of drives which are USB-A to store our stuff. I've got over 6 drives which I work with when on the road with another 20 at home. While I'll agree USB-C/Thunderbolt is faster. The cost and availability is still slim. Don't forget the workflow we are using and the speed we need doesn't offer us lots of options. Fumbling with dongles or hubs is just not workable. My focus needs to be on the shoot! Models cost money and the environment settings sometimes don't last that long! I gave the dongles a try and ended up with more gear in my bags both taking up more space and weighing more! It was a mess!

I've never had any problems with the MagSafe connections in any of my systems. If it comes off it likely got pulled which is what it is designed to do. I will confess I did pull my '16 to the floor a few times onto a carpeted floor from a coffee table. I've not had that happen with any other system. I know of others who went cheap with fake chargers and having lots of issues with them.

Working high-end Pro's don't have time to fumble with their gear. The new thrust for the heavy desktop (Mac Pro) needs a mate in the laptop space! Thats what many of us want!

I haven't bought a brand new Mac since 2012. I'm buying used until I can leapfrog the poor design trends (as a pro user). And if I can't leapfrog...I have a difficult decision ahead.

A lot of comments about the keyboard, but I’ve had a 2019 MBP for 2 months and haven’t had a problem yet.

It took them five tries to get to that!

Now go to a library or courtroom and type away without someone looking at you with a scowl face or tell you to put your system away! Keyboard is still too noisy.

I think the turning point for me was when Apple dropped Aperture.

I learn in an instant that I needed to have a "bailout plan" for the Apple ecosystem and that I could depend on "nothing" long term from Apple. They make good stuff but it could all vanish so I need a plan. I've gone to Adobe products for creative work and Linux for development work. I use my Mac as a terminal for other systems and for Safari.

Maybe not enough people used Aperture but dropping it showed even those who didn't use it that they need to be prepared to not be dependent on Apple products.

Useless for you. Touchscreen in laptop is terrible and stupid idea.

Life is great on my Thinkpad Carbon X1! Physical keyboard, full function keys (great for you know, doing work), USB A and C ports, HDMI, all day battery life, made of material that doesn't burn your legs or dent, and light!

Every now and then I'm tempted by a Macbook Pro but I would be sacrificing functionality.
