EDIT: Most Enterprises are on a three year rotation anyways, and Apple already provides Security Updates for High Sierra, Mojave and Catalina, so that’s already covered.
Three years? LOL. Microsoft offering paid support for Windows 7 until 2023 kinda contradicts your statement there. You are probably only looking at specific use case, like laptops for the executives.

One need to realize that the numbers of shipments from PC OEMs (especially the top 3, Lenovo, Dell, and HP) are mostly from enterprise contracts, not consumer use. The fact that Apple even on this list considering Apple mostly focused on consumers is quite fascinating.
Enterprises do not like Macs. What's so fascinating about it? BTW what's happened to IBM and their claims about the benefits of Macs? What about all Google engineers using Macs? How about all iOS app developers having to use Macs? I am sure there are quite a few of those employed by enterprises.

Non upgradeable RAM, non upgradeable storage, mediocre GPUs even in top speced models, questionable keyboard quality, inadequate thermal solutions, no physical ESC key...and so forth and so on.

And then you’re wondering why people are not buying?

Your conclusion is based off of your emotional attachment to what you think are failures by Apple.

Apple is moving generally the same amount of units. If people really did not purchase Apple for the reasons you mentioned, we'd be seeing a downward trend line over an extended period of time, not Apple maintaining their current ranking and general sales numbers.

I would prices to buy a macOS laptop but not at those astronomical prices with no chance of user changable ram and storage, no ports, no matte screen option, dicky keyboard, poor thermal performance.
Also would like to buy a macOS desktop with decent graphics performance and thermal design but not at Mac Pro prices.

I'll be happy chappy even with macOS on a garden variety Dell Inspiron.

I don’t think Apple wonders anything. The Mac has been a very stable product line. With price increases, this kind of performance (which is a guess) is probably in line with their own internal expectations.

According to the article, people keep buying PCs. They must be happy otherwise why would they do it?
Because they are cheap and computers are useful, even if it’s not the optimal or most wanted make/model.

Same reason Android has high market share. Cheap phones.

Can't imagine why.... They have the best keyboard out there and their thermals are second to none.

Mac is a neglected lineups in Apple's world. New features are always available on iOS first, despite a Mac computer being much more expensive than average iOS devices.

It's like macOS is a bad, afterthought clone of iOS. Mac AppStore is a barren desert, and the new iTunes forked apps are simply horrible. And Apple asking $1500 for its base configuration? Add more RAM and storage, you touch $4k easy when those components are cheap commodities in PC world.

With the huge, blank spaces on the upper frame, Apple could've upgraded all Macs with FaceID, while also improving the camera quality. They didn't. iMac stays with crappy iSight camera and Macbook is no different.

The keyboard is also another nail on the coffin. You'd expect $2K laptop to have a decent, reliable keyboard. It's thin for sure. But I never see no one survive with its original butterfly keys within the first 2 years, unless you always bring external keyboard. LOL

99% of this forum is frustrated Apple-hating people.

You misunderstand. We’re a bunch of frustrated Apple-LOVING people.

No single product is going to make everyone happy and no company makes the greatest products every single time. But lately Macs have offered little in terms of functional improvements, and in fact have acquired many reductions in functionality, have had some straight-up bad design choices and all the while steadily get more expensive. I will pay more for a better product, especially if it’s something I interact directly with every day, But I refuse to pay more for an inferior product.

Meanwhile, at Apple:
"Tim, no one wants to buy Macs anymore!"
"Increase the prices! Decrease quality!"
"Tim we can't possibly make these computers any worse, they already -"
"Put a new chip inside whose sole purpose is to crash randomly!"
"Oh wow we hadn't thought of that..."

And call it the Terminator 2000 chip, or T2 in short.

I went back to windows and I don't regret it. Windows 10 today is nothing like the old days. I don't have random crashes, or slowdowns. I have access to tons of games and software that are super optimized, and things just work. Plus I can buy a machine with good quality, great keyboard, and reasonable price.

Market has spoken, Tim get the f out!

No one wants your dongles, no one wants crappy key boards, no one wants to pay an extra 500 for a useless Touch Bar, and no one wants ultra slow MacBook airs.

Also, new instore displays and emojis won’t make me upgrade to your crappy hardware.

Shareholders should be mad, Apple revenue could be so much higher with someone else in charge!
