So much for "ships today." It's 2:00 in the morning, and I'm starting to think "today" may be over.

I've learned some patience through this process though. My 2006 black Macbook can hold out for a few more days.

Yeah... I had my order placed within about a minute after the Apple Store came online today (12:30ish PST) what scares me is this limbo status mine is it.. no one else has it and googling it pulls up NOTHING. I called Apple and they said it should work itself out, that was 9 hours ago though...

I haven't been charged yet, and I think the Apple website says you can still cancel it. BUT doing that might only put you at the end of a long line.

I don't think anyone has posted that theirs has shipped yet.

Is this normal for release-day drama, or is this especially buggy?

I had better experiences with the iPad AND iPhone releases, which are even more popular.

Ok, so I called Apple, they swapped my shipping to FREE and gave me a free Thunderbolt cable. 🙂

I ordered 8 GB RAM and thats not a "standard configuration". Placed my order yesterday to try and get one this week.....will call the apple store this morning (they wouldnt tell me anything yesterday) and if they really do have in stock then I will cancel and go get one.

Right now they are quoting 6/22/12 for in-store pickup, at least at all the NYC stores.

Just got my order confirmation through from the Apple UK Store. 13/128/8 model, ordered a few minutes after the site went live and delivery for 19-21 June.

I'm going to call right now. Little annoyed that "Ships today" isn't really true when I placed my order minutes after the store went back up.

I got a confirmed email at 2:42 am EST and a $50usd is on hold in my bank

I called last night and spoke with them as well, was told they would change the status as it was an error in their system. It's still in the Awaiting Action with Action Required at the top.

That said, should I give them a call later today and see what's up and try for free shipping? I paid for the expediting shipping in hopes it'd be here before week's end. At this rate, it will be here early next week, which isn't exactly the expedited service I was hoping for 😕
