Is the 2019 refresh worth upgrading from the 2017 model? I have education discount and a £50 Apple voucher, so a 256gb MBA comes to £1120 without applecare. Minus the £200ish after selling the beats, it would come to around £920. The only reason I'd wait is for a return of the scissor keys, but is that likely to be this year...or even 2020?

Not likely at all to happen this year. The rumoured 16" Pro might get the new scissor keyboard this year but aside from that nothing else. 2020 is when the big changes across the MacBook line will happen.

Upgraded from the MBA 2013, to the 2019 MBA. So far its great, fast, runs smooth and light to carry around.

It's sad that one of the most-looked-forward-to features is a working keyboard. And even that is only to be adopted by a 'premium priced' laptop....

Indeed it is ... my guess the big change will only by year 2020 ?
Keyboard is the very basic part and pre-dominantly contribute for a deal breaker whether to buy or not to buy , here I am still typing with 2012 MBA without a single problem or twitch for that manner.

Apple keep saying the new keyboard types more accurately but then again if its not reliable and prone to dust what's the point exactly .. to me 2012 till now and not a single problem uttered by the keyboard now that's a good investment indeed.
