Gan,

I noticed you ended up selling the MBA. Did you just get fed up with the whole process or did you just turn away from Apple altogether. I would have expected better service.

Since you sold it yesterday, it looks like they were able to keep your repair date. Did you ever end up calling the Executive Relations guy to see if they were going to do anything different?

I sold it because was fed up with it and because I have my 13" MBP so I didnt really need it. I also want to buy an iPhone 4 within the next few weeks and I have to pay full price (I have a gophone plan) so I needed the money to buy the phone. The last time I spoke to the Executive Relations guy was the day I brought the computer to the store and then he called me and said that he heard from the repair depot and that they "dont know" if they caused the damage so they would repair it. I told him I already brought it into the Apple store and he said thats good since I was able to talk to someone face to face. That was the last time I talked to him. The manager of my Apple store did call me on Sunday because I left bad feedback on the genius bar survey email.

So I take it that they never offered to replace the system even after getting the call back from the manager? Pitty, but at least they gave you a fully functional machine.

No they never offered but I thought they might when the manager called. When I went to pick the computer yesterday they first gave me a bill for $880 and then Im like no thats not right and then they said oh your right its $186. Im like no its supposed to be free and then the genius manager came over and said to take off the entire amount. I kind of hoped that they kept it up so I could talk to the manager of the store.

my dude, ur way to nice, you should have a new 2.13 macbook air with a ssd in it with 3 years of apple care by now.

Wow I'm so sorry for all your troubles but hopefully now you know how to deal with Apple in the future. The executive guy is your best shot once you establish a relationship with corporate. The Genius bar, however, should always be the first stop because they tend to appease quicker.

Dude, with how much s**t you've been through with them, I'm surprised you still use apple products. It's partially service like this that I switched from windows to mac. I was told apple had some of the best customer service around. I suppose all companies have their faults, but still man

Yeah but this was only one time that I didnt have great service, they have replaced numerous iPods for me with no questions asked and fixed a few macbooks that were out of warranty for me.
