My Setup

I use an 11" MacBook Air Baseline as my primary computer and I am a wildlife photographer. I use Aperture all the time, along with the occasional iMovie. I am looking into buying a Thunderbolt display real soon, and I also do use the SuperDrive from Apple.

It is as fast as it can be and I really do like everything about it. I keep it naked because I love the aluminum closure.

And yes, I have an iPad 1 and an iPhone 4S.

Picked up the 23" monitor/keyboard/magic mouse today and finally got my desk all setup.

13" latest rev MBA

Primary computer

I have a iCarbon skin on the bottom and an oakley vertical checkpoint messenger bag that holds my MBA/iPad/laptop size external drive and a few other small things.

You might say I have an Apple "problem" I own

iPod nano(latest gen)
iPhone 4S
iPad 2
MBA (latest gen)

Next thing I want is some sort of dock, I'll either get the Henge dock when it comes out or the book arc one.

1. 11.6" 4/128gb
2. I have a MBP 17" and a desktop gaming/media PC. The air is my portable I take around day to day though.
3. Black Speck SeeThru Satin - does its job. And I go out with a half-messenger bag it fits in perfectly.

Do you work at テラタッグ?

11" 1.6/2GB/64GB

Not my primary machine, I use a 15" MBP 2.0GHZ/16GB/500GB for heavy lifting/syncing and holding my itunes library. I also have an iPad for bedside surfing/traveling. Air is mostly my on campus computer.

Currently using a incase sleeve for the air.

What's your setup consist of?

1. Which MacBook Air do you have?

2. Is the Air your main computer? Do you use it along with an external monitor, another computer(s), iPad or ?

3. Use a sleeve, skin, speck case? What kind of bag or backpack have you found suitable for the Air's?

Photo's WELCOME!

1. 13", mid 2011, 128 gb

2. My main go-to computer. I have a hackintosh / Gaming PC at home that I use mostly on weekends. An iPad for light browsing, reading magazine.

3. I was going naked-style look before I got Speck Seethru transparent from my friend as a birthday gift. I never thought I would like it but it's actually kind of nice. No sleeve, went straight into my bag.

Love this thing to bits btw.

Can anyone who uses their Air mostly in clamshell mode attached to an external monitor comment on how their Air is holding up? I noticed the fans really kick up when using an external monitor (20" Acer). The temps are obviously kicking higher. Will this cause any sort of harm to the overall system keeping it in such a fashion? I plan to use the Air as a "desktop" computer for the majority of the time, and only unplug when I really need it on the go.

Also, what about the battery? Apple recommends user discharge their Air batteries every now and then to "exercise" it. Do you users consciously unplug to let it drop a bit? Or do you just leave it plugged in and forget about it?

Thanks.

13" MBA is my only computer. At work it sits in a book arc and is plugged into a 27" TB display. A 1tb iomega mini-max hard drive for time machine, a wired keyboard with number pad, and ethernet are plugged into the monitor and a magic trackpad is on the side. A super drive is in a desk drawer for when needed.

At home is an airport extreme and an apple tv.

This looks so clean, I love it!

11" MacBook Air 4GB - 128GB

I bought this guy at BestBuy as an open item. It came to be around $900~ or so before tax. I also purchased Buy Back, since I plan to buy the new one when it comes out. I didn't feel like selling it online to some picky person who was going to complain about the condition again.

This is my primary machine for gaming, editing, designing, and writing. I can take it wherever I need to, and I love that.

I play CS:S competitively, and I own www.FRAGBOSS.com.

It's nice to see this thread alive again, I enjoy seeing pics of mba set-ups

It's nice to see that not everyone has fancy setups who own a Macbook like me.

ALL of my friends made fun of me for getting a MacBook Air. All I had to do was tell them to type on the Asus Zenbook and use the trackpad, then go to the MacBook Air. People that bash Apple and MacBooks do not understand value and price are not the same thing.

I use my MacBook Air for typing mostly, and how frustrated would I be if I kept making errors because of the keyboard? I'd get pretty pissed pretty quickly. lol

I'm also getting the BenQ XL2420T to review soon, so good bye CRT! :p

A Working setup.
As an IT consultant I normally have 2 or 3 jobs going on at the same time.
When I'm working, I use the iPad for email, and the Mac as my primary. The Dells in the background are normaly connected to various systems.

Ultimate 13

The MBA is quickly become my main computer and my IMac is growing lonely, becoming the families music server only.

No case or sleeve though I do keep it in the middle section of a small laptop bag.

1) I have the 11" Baseline Model
2) At the moment, it is my main computer. I am an avid wildlife photographer and it can handle all of my photography applications fine, but in the future I will most likely by a MacBook Pro and let my dad have my Air.
3) I have a Targus netbook bag that fits the sleek form of the MacBook itself.

MBA 13.3
128GB SSD
4GB RAM
plus a 250 GB Western Digital external drive used for itunes & iphoto

I also have a pretty beefy Windows desktop but seldom use it as my MBA goes everywhere with me very comfortably.

I hope this is it, just added my final addition today. Logitech Z323 2.1 Speaker System.

My girl who questioned my purchases for the Air, actually love its. She's asking me to buy her a Mini Display Port for her Pro (Mid-2011). LOL

Undecided but I'm happy how it all turned out. When Apple releases the new iMac's I will decide, as I said I only bought this because I got tired of waiting.

3. Use a sleeve, skin, speck case? What kind of bag or backpack have you found suitable for the Air's?

I bought a Marware Messenger Bag from eBay.
