This is my setup with the Thunderbolt Display and Macbook Air. This got rid of a lot of cables I had with my old 30" Dell and Macbook Pro and really makes my desktop look better.

I've got the MacBook Air sitting on top of a ZM-NC 1000 notebook cooler... probably not required, but I already had it. On the base of the display is the Superdrive and the controller for my Bose sound system. Speakers below the display and subwoofer under the desk. I relocated my USB hub on a shelf under my desk, along with a firewire drive I have partitioned for Time Machine, SuperDuper, and Photoshop Scratch. Under the credenza behind my desk are a couple of NAS boxes, a switch, VOIP boxes, Airport, Netgear router, etc..

I've done some more work on my desk area this weekend. I've added a Cable port to my desk. It's a brushed Aluminium one that matches the macbook air. Fitting the port was a real pig, but worth doing.

The setup is a 27in Apple Cinema Display, 11in Macbook Air Core i5 128GB. With the cable port in place I can tidy up the pretty awkward Cinema Display cable.

After a bit of work on Saturday, I've mounted my 27in ACD onto a Humanscale M7 Monitor Stand. I've done this for two reasons, one is that by default the ACD is a touch too low for me. With the Humanscale I can adjust it to suit my needs. Also the stand whilst an ok place to put my Macbook Air, it cause the Air to move too easily when pulling cables etc out.

I already had the Humanscale M7 mount in the loft, so the only thing I needed was the Apple VESA adapter. I've fitted one on the previous generation of Cinema Displays and that was very hard. The current ones are so much easier. The hidden screws are such an clever bit of engineering. Something only Apple would do.

I don't use the full adjustment on the mount as I don't need it all at present.

With this setup I'm down to so few cables under the desk. It's crazy how far Apple have come with thinning out the cable mess over the last few years. My cable try underneath the desk looks rather sparse now.

Nice workplace, really cozy and personal, feels just at home. :)

I am glad that you like it!
Right now it is a mess but I will get around to cleaning it up. I like it because i put my latest family pics up on the cork board that i covered in yellow paper.
The top shelf has antiques given to me primarily by my 91 y/o grandmother. The second shelf has books and some more items on display.
I also have a fish tank that I have a view from.
I am a student so this is really nice :)

i see most of you pairing it with a ATD, no one using a 3011? its about the same price :D

Nice, but you really need to invest in an iPhone (I see a clamshell Motorolla - is it? - on the side there) to really get the best out of your set up. Seriously, it's that good!

11" late 2010 (1.4/2/128)

its my primary machine, hooked up to a 24" ACD (via ebay), apple wireless keyboard and trackpad. right now i use the 11" only in this desktop setup because i have rediscovered my ipad1.

This thread is pure porn for Apple fans :-D

1. MBA 13 4/128
2. Not right now, but in the process of switching to the Apple Eco system. A 15" notebook (to be bought) will play this role. Currently iPad and i4 along with pc's/wintel notebooks.
3. None.

Thanks for all the great posts. Really helpful.
