Glad this rumour business is not my business ... I quickly start feeling like a sicko if I come checking out those next week maybe news. what a bore.

I predict that someone will make a prediction and if it's wrong, they will make a new prediction and keep doing so until they get it right, and then say "I told you so."

well said.

I don't blame the false predictions/rumors, after all, we are all contributing to a macRUMORS forum, but the language used could be different. They should say "predicts", rather than "reports".

Of course, if they actually did that (which they won't), they would all sound like a bunch of miss cleos

I'd still like to know what happened to all the douchbags who insisted the current design of the macbook air didn't have a backlit keyboard because it 'couldn't fit'.
That could still have been true when the current design MBA came out. It's been many, many months now, and the components may have gotten smaller.

Nothing to see here people, it's just another unsubstantiated rumor, obtained from a fourth-party, in order to drive traffic here and keep pace with other Apple enthusiast sites.

Enough with this already.

...

I wonder if the battery will be bumped or if it will drop due to sandy bridge

Heh. This is like saying,"lol, we got your guys, but they really are coming next week or maybe not. Promise. Also check out this white chip that is part of the MBA, apparently. This shows that the new MBA may be coming out in a white colour. Our sources confirm this and they have been accurate 1/30 times in the last 12 months".

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8J2 Safari/6533.18.5)

WHAT sources is also a good question. Who the crap are these "informers"? Probably a dude sitting behind a desk brainstorming ideas about what to type.

Boy-who-cried-wolf... Macrumors.. You are the boy/website-who-cried-wolf/macbook-air...

Lost faith in you. But not faith in new MacBook airs. Or Jesus. Very different implications though. ;)

Maybe you are being sarcastic (which never translates well online), but you should realize that any information you hear online is a rumor until Apple actually releases a product.

My favourite is when the different sites cite each other as sources and build up new rumours on the back of other rumours.

And that is exactly what's happening. Plus, the timing of each new rumor always fall very close to rumor releases from other sites. It's all a game of leapfrog. Sadly, few people have caught on to what these sites are doing.

Even if they do come out next week, I won't be able to get one until probably winter :( Gotta prioritize my spending.

For flip's sake, are they really holding up these releases just to stick to the tradition of no releases before the conference call and OS X releases the last Friday of the month? I know people heading for iMacs instead of waiting for the next Pros, and I would probably have to recommend the current Air over the one that may or may not launch late next week.... Apart from anything else I really like not having a backlit keyboard, and I really like my 320M :).

I still like my idea of Apple releasing the new hardware with Lion before releasing Lion itself, but at this rate they'll never release either!

Ah well, this is par for the course in following mac news. I yearn for the day that the rumor websites are all out by a week, but in the other direction. What a treat that would be.

So, does it mean every new MacBook Air comes with Lion preinstalled? Or do we have to download from MAS, like all qualified Mac before has to :D

I think all these new rumors are just like firing a shotgun from the hip. It's evident that the Lion and MBA release will happen very soon so anyone can say next week and it sounds reasonable. You don't have to be one of those "analysts" to make it believable.

We don't know until Apple officially releases, however with every passing day, it appears more likely that new Macs will ship with OS X 10.7 Lion.

I'm writing this on an iBook G4 that I purchased in August of 2005. I have put off buying a new computer as I had a financial goal of paying off my mortgage, which I did last November. I really want my new computer. I've been a good boy.:)

The latest iteration of the MBP just didn't do it for me, and the MBA with it's C2D processor seemed obsolete the day it was released. I'm hoping that the new MBA will be a computer to fall in love with.

Really are these journalists have some sort of inside info to back this update?

That sounds like huge leap forward to me.

1. Add Thunderbolt
2. 128GB SSD standard
3. 4GB RAM standard
4. Add Backlit Keyboard
5. Add Sandy Bridge CPU
6. HD facetime Camera

Just saw MBP update and only received these three...
1. Add Thunderbolt
2. Better CPU and Better GPU
3. Add HD facetime Camera

If next MBA gets all of those upgrades, then apple is just plain crazy to keep 13 inch MBP. 13 inch MBP serves no purpose what so ever.

I hope they increase the student discount from $50 to $100. All the other laptops have $100+ discount I believe.
