I like the idea but not the samples shown. Give me something that covers the big illuminated logo.

I like that kind of low key attitude!

They make some hardcases that cover up the logo, I'm looking to get one as well.

When I got my MBP, I knew from the outset that I wanted a decal. Granted, they're not ubiquitous, but there's too many MBP's out there that look exactly the same as every other one. I wanted mine to look visually different, but I didn't want something too big either. So I settled on this:

Bonus: Guess the logo.

Jedi Knight Academy. Love those games ;)

I'm probably going to look for the Half-Life Lambda symbol for my MBP once I get it... speaking of which, HURRY UP OCT. 20th!

Depnds what you're using it for? Is it your personal laptop? Are you gonna be using it as a health professional in front of customers?

If I went to my doctor's and he had the "Apple a Day..." one I'd be mildly amused and wouldn't bat an eyelid. If I saw he had an Iron man/Batman one I'd instantly wonder if it was a personal laptop, and if so if he was wondering about with confidential personal details of mine on his own laptop (which may not be used within his compnay's security protocols, and may just as likely end up at parties playing MP3s)! In that case I'd subconsciously wonder how professional it was.

If it's basically for own use then it's personal taste. Do you wear a suit in all your free time in case you're worried you might meet an important person from work in the street, or dress however you like? I figure if everyone thinks I'm very professional at work, if they see me on the street and I look "more interesting than the average joe" then more power to me for being who I want, when I want. I think macs have a great design ethic and look great as they come. But then it's a a toss up between do you want "that super sleek design look" or think of it as "another of SJ's horde of exactly-the-same clones" where yours looks like EVERY SINGLE other MBP owners for the last few years with no sense of individuality.

To use someone elses analogy: Currently my macbook has no stickers. Currently I have no tattoos. However, I appreciate both good macbook stickers and interesting tattoos. I really don't like bad/cheesy/OTT macbook stickers or bad/cheesy/OTT tattoos. There'll be some people who dislike both regardless, but no-one really minds a subtle one, especially if it's not in your face, or if it is more obvious, only visible in your "personal time". I'd quite like to get a tattoo or macbook sticker; I just haven't found/designed one I'd commit to yet. And I also don't care for people who'd make judgements on people based on something that weak. That implies they'd probably judge people just as fast based on their clothes/colour of their skin/sex/sexuality/country/town/accent/hobbies/religion/whether they have a beard/etc before judging people on how they really are by getting to know them. I don't even try to please people that bigoted as they're generally impossible to unless you sell your soul.

For me, decals are cool as long as they are done tastefully; A clearly defined theme with attention to detail that accentuates the MBs design intent.

What do minimalist stickers look like? ;)

neither. It's the asian who'll get the job :p:p:p

That's not true. There are lots of jobs out there for other people who went to uni to party and treat their education as a joke. ;)

One of the only decals I've seen that I really like is a Hello Kitty one........and that little realisation scares the crap out of me.

i am a fan of the naruto anime part 1 and 2 i was wondering if anyone i have looked found any with the characters maybe naruto making the rasengan with the apple logo being the rasengan

I have this on my mbp, I am a big fan of helicopters. (dad's a pilot, we both work for aviation industry)

I used to have a much smaller one, slightly overlapping the apple logo but it started falling apart so I got a new one. :)

I would never get a tattoo, I feel the same way about putting stickers on my computers. Also, it destroys the resale value of your machine, so why would you ever want to do that? I would want to keep my machine 100% mint and fresh all the time, and I think these cheesy stickers destroy that aspect of your laptop's aesthetics.

How would stickers "destroy" the resale value of a laptop? Just peel them off before you sell them. These aren't made of paper. You can peel them without leaving any residue on the machine. Don't make claims about things you don't know.

its tacky. in fact, tackier than that mac fanboy yelling "we love you steve" during the mac dev conference keynote. but like other folks say, its your macbook. one man's tacky is another man's high-end indulgence.

In my opinion - cool. I've done different decals/sticker combos on my MacBook Pros since 2008. I enjoy it, it's a bit of fun and personalization that can easily be changed or removed should the mood strike me. I just got a 2011 MBP, haven't decided what I'm going to do with it yet, but I did order a True Blood decal. I'll probably just start collecting stickers again.

I saw a few great ones over at ebay that I bookmarked; I'll probably head back over there when I get settled in at college.

I saw one that was very clever with an apple hanging from the tree with the
f=mg equation on it.

Physics in 6th period... good times.
