'MacBook Pro 2010' RAM Modules Spotted?

Not for MacBook Pros

I _suspect_ that this memory is NOT for any new model of MBP.

Reasons:
* i7 720qm and 820qm are the only mobiles that take 1333MHz DDR3, but they run at 45W, versus the 35W we generally expect.
* iMacs also use the same "notebook" ram (as a quick search on Kingston.com will show), and I would say they are far more likely than MBPs to be upgraded to a processor that supports 1333MHz.

just my thoughts...

Apple is widely expected to launch new MacBook Pros any day now.

Yep, any day now... *checks watch...* aaaaany daaaay now...

*check watch again*

If Apple continues to waste their time with this iPad nonsense, I'm just going to give up and get a PC.

Screw you, Apple. You're not cool enough to wait this long for, especially when you haven't lowered prices on the current models.

pleasssss come on bring it on mann mac production is late with the update i want to buy it srry for my english not so good at it :p i realy hope that is comming soon in this week :D

yea, I try to think on the positive side. The longer I wait, the more money I'll have to get a nicer machine. And, the longer I wait the more likely I am to wait for the back to school promotion and get myself a new iPod =)

MBP doesn't make the top 5 of Apple's priorities

Everybody on these forums needs to understand that the MBP was at one time one of Apple's signature products, but it simply isn't anymore. (It's not even in the top 5.)

Nobody over there is obviously losing any sleep about how long it has been since the last update, or how overpriced and uncompetitive the MBP is right now. Its a blip on the companies radar - especially going forward.

When Apple looks toward the future they see TV enabled multi-function desktops and highly mobile devices like the phone, touch, pad, nano continuing to evolve into amazing devices. MBP are just going to get faster. Boring. Not what media frenzy product launches are made of and not what their image has become.

I wouldn't be surprised if Apple doesn't expect the MBP to even be a product 7 to 10 years from now.

You are horribly mistaken.

Laptops and rock n roll are not dead

Thanks for the links oldgeezer and you are right! I have no idea where the people who keep acting like apple laptops are on the way out are getting their info. As you pointed out in one of your links, they are outselling desktops 2 to 1, so I don't think apple will be abandoning ship, heh. The I-pad is not going to erase the demand for the laptop. I feel, when this refresh happens, it will be clear apple has not forsaken us.

I must admit i would be very surprised if apple abandoned it's laptop lines, they make a killing off them. There will have to be a limit to how much people are willing to sacrifice performance and functionality for smaller, more compact devices. I think Apple are doing the right thing by not jumping on the netbook boat.

I think MacBooks / Pros are going to get better and better, not obsolete!

ponitless hoping... hobby?

So I just landed the largest website job in my life, which warrants a reward for myself, which is obviously a new MBP. Not that I exactly need a sweet new core i7 MBP to write php on, but it's about time for me to upgrade my '07 MBP. I fully realize that yes, Apple is expected to release the new MBP anywhere from "any day now" to "sometime after the iPad comes out." However, I keep coming back to this form in some hope of a light at the end of the tunnel. Basically, it's kind of turned into a hobby...

Anyway, I really do not believe that Apple will ever abandon the MB or MBP line. Did you listen to Jobs' intro speech about how Apple is a mobile computing company right before he introduced the iPad? Honestly, I think every product they have has a perfect niche that makes them a large profit. In my opinion, I think the iPod classic will be the first thing to go. Really the only users left that buy it are people that want an enormous amount of music on hand. I knew someone who bought TWO 80GB (Largest at the time) just because he apparantly had a need for enough music on hand to last him four years if he were ever stranded on a desert island. Either way, Apple has an excellent line up, and I think they know what they're doing.

With that said, any recommendations on whether ebay is the best way to sell a 17" 2007 MBP???

The iPod Classic is a monster, i bought the 120 Gig model back in the days. :) It´s perfect to carry a huge collection of music around with you.

The waiting for the new MBP is getting boring. Sure, the current model would be fine for me, but i want to get the most bang for my buck. If they don´t update until March 14 though, i´m forced to buy the current model as i don´t wanna lose my educational discount.

When Jobs did the iPad speech the MacBooks/Pro were included on the screen when he discussed mobile products. I think they fully consider that one of their mobile products. Also considering how much Apple loves the walled garden I think they consider OSX part of the perfect iPod/Phone/Pad experience.

What a rare insight into Apple's priorities, surprised you are not yet their top strategist. Do yourself a favour, read Apple's annual report http://phx.corporate-ir.net/External.File?item=UGFyZW50SUQ9Mjc1Mzd8Q2hpbGRJRD0tMXxUeXBlPTM=&t=1 (segment reporting, pages 10-11), this might reveal a somewhat different picture of what is actually making money for the business.

Personally I'm more concerned that the current model MBP is still selling too well to the general public, that there is no indication that the product is in decline and this may postpone the update. Hopefully the necessity to maintain the "bleeding edge" image will prevail and we'll see them soon.

Yo ma homies! :D

I've given up this big wait for the new macbook pro's. Sure, I'm gonna wait untill the upgrade before I actually buy, but i've gone tired of this constant rat-race wait for the new model.

I'm still gona be checking this site every day, only this time I'll be expecting nothing so I won't be disapointed when I figure.

I've simply...given up!

Ideally, wouldn't a company release a new and improved model before too much of a decline takes place? Keeping momentum is what I would think would be a top concern. I would think Apple would want to prevent sales from declining in the first place, not wait until they start to decline and then do something about it.
