hey just out of interest, when apple does release things on a tues, what time does the update go up? like midnight? or 9am? and what timezone? its already midday tuesday in here in melbourne lol, jus trying to work out what time i am actually waiting for? well, probably waiting for nothing to happen lol, but still, one can hope.

hey everyone just new here,

found some web site reporting that the macbook pro should be out in April.

reseller info

lets just hope this isn't true and it'll be realeased in the next 24 hours.

Just look in one of the "Waiting for A..." threads (I think the 3rd one) - there was a big fight between tosh and other users. This is a big fake and Mr. Tosh ist just guessing ... like everyone of us.

I put as much faith in that report as the random reports people post here daily. The line will refresh when the line refreshes.

I do suspect that it won't be until the iPad is out on 3 April. While the products aren't in the same class, why set up any competition for news and publicity. Let the iPad rush happen, then update other products.

And if, as Steve suggested, Macs are about to undergo some major updates or changes this year, wouldn't it be reasonable to think that the updates might take a bit longer? Sure they might have been working on them since the day they released the last MBPs, but if the technology is new, I'd prefer they get it right BEFORE the release, and not have to fix it after.

Could it be that we'll see a new macbook pro at the same time the iPad hits the store? (a friend of mine asked)

Me personally, I think we'll get a keynote from steve at the wwdc. And the upgrade will be worth the wait. Hell I hope so!

I think it could be today, or before the April 3 date. It will just be a sub-headline at the bottom of the Apple page in one of the small squares (replacing the current Aperture 3 square).

I don't know. If there are "big things" coming to the Mac this year, I'd think he'd want to really sell it up, and not just have a footnote. Or, perhaps, as some suggest there will be a really minor update now, and then something huge later in the year so we'll all kick ourselves and say, "If only I'd waited!"

When is the WWDC?

The difference being that he has a computer that he's happy with at a price that worked for him, and you don't. And you're waiting for a speed increase that you probably won't notice in real world use, but you'll swear you can tell the difference just to impress your friends.

I mean, I'm waiting too, but I've given up on thinking it's not pathetic.

wrong
i am waiting for the refresh for 1 main reason
in few weeks i will be able to buy the same mac he bought at least 1/3 less than now
unless you have money to burn that is not pathetic at all
if you do, i am glad for you
i dont unfortunately

I was wondering where a good place or site to buy the old mbp model would be when the newer model gets released?

it depends where you live i guess
i live in NY, craigslist here is always full of good deals on macs
i will probably buy it there,
sincerely i am not sure internet stores regarding old models
anyone?

One more MBP2010 left for you...

today I finally gave up and bought an iMac 28 i7 2,8GHz.
I'll use my old MBP to remote the iMac with apple remote desktop on trips and at home. My daughter is getting a MacBook (She would have got my old MBP when I could have bought a new one).
May Apple release whatever and whenever Thee want.

Even one more...

today I finally gave up....
Me too! I just wanted to tell you that I only registered to tell you that I gave up yesterday.
I ordered the current 15" MBP 2,8GHz. All this "next tuesday!" - "No! NEXT tuesday - for sure!" posting is pointless. I needed one and couldn't wait any longer. In my opinion, the best posting said: "Even if Apple releases a 2010 MBP, this doesn't mean the current ones are getting worse."

Nobody knows when Apple will show some new stuff, thats the simple fact...
I am looking forward receiving my brand new :apple:MBP :D

ouch...i feel for you buying a 2 year old computer thats disgustingly over priced and very modest in the tech department..at least if you waited it might have been cheaper :-(

NEW MBPs NXT 2SDAY 4 SURE

+1

I object more to the frankly antiquated technology than I do to the overprice.

Give me a break. All you guys ragging on the current MBP just so you can justify buying the next one around the corner. Like you will be able to do SO MUCH MORE!!!!!! with the newer model.

Let me still all the beating hearts & just let you all know that you will be surfing the internet & downloading pics of Megan Fox just the same as I will on my 15" MBP I bought two weeks ago.

Kinda like arguing that a '08 R1 is waaaaaaay slower than a '10 R1. Maybe on paper, but in reality, no one but the pro riders would ever even notice. Even then, it would be splitting hairs.

If you need it, buy it. Too expensive? Go PC.... nerds.

Fingers Crossed

Long time listener first time poster...

For what it is worth. I work at a public school and our district is buying mass quantities of mac book pros and mac books this week. When apple unloads mac book pros to the public schools it is usually a good sign that they are "cleaning house," getting ready for a new fleet.

Here's to hoping I can soon stop obsessively checking this website and enjoy my new mac book pro! /cheers

Dh'u! Just check the cycle, we know that they're about to give us new models now!

Aaaargh!

I just browsed the web and found the same modell i ordered 2 days ago (needs 2 weeks shipping:confused:) in the shop around the corner nearly same price.
So I called apple telling them 2 weeks is way too long and I want to abort my order.
As I was calling all shops selling apple close to my place one called back and told me the following:
We tried to get you the modell you want (15" MBP antigl. 7200rpm 500GB) but it is nearly impossible to get it for us. The opinion of my boss is: Wait one more week! If Apple ever had "problems" shipping MBs like they have right now, they are very close to shipping new ones and want the old ones to be off the market as fast as possible.
Apple! You've got one more week. Next Tuesday. (Fingers crossed)

Steve Jobs: "One more..." WEEK!

Edit: Browsed some more online stores - all of 'em have probs shipping. I thinks its gonna be next week

Ever since the announcement that pre-sale of the iPad starts this Friday, I've been thinking that this would be the most likely date to debut new MBP's. They need to update the site and get a lot of traffic afterwards. What better way except an event to showcase the newest toys? Plus there's the 10.6.3 update that can't take much longer, the 14th date of the Best Buy SKU's (for what it's worth), more and more notices of depleted stock around this board... In my simple mind it all adds up nicely :)

/wishful thinking mode: off
