My order already shipped but I was wondering if I could get like a partial refund. I mean I haven't called them at all. I just waited patiently without saying a word. I placed my order on the 11th and I was like the last 11th-guy to get it. It just shipped yesterday. I should be rewarded right for keeping my mouth shut and not calling them every 5min to whine.


Why are they giving you items?

I lol'd with the force of a thousand suns. You may not have said a word to Apple, but you came here and cried and whined like a four year old girl to us. Also, why would you want/need a partial refund? They won't give you one. You don't deserve one. You don't need one. Your order is on it's way to you, so please, just this once, put a pause on your stupidity. There are people waiting much longer than you. The world doesn't revolve around you and your self-centeredness.

Because it is one way to make sure they don't cancel a $2199 minimum order due to a 3-4 week order time.

Like I said, look on the bright side your order finally shipped and you will be using your MBPR within the next few days. You haven't lost out.

I don't know if you've noticed but you're really not making yourself look good you know.

PS - You didn't keep your mouth shut at all. You inflicted your misery on everyone here. You should be paying us.

Why would they give you a partial refund? You got what you paid for, within a shipping timeframe they set...
You just had... a slight delay in shipping from what you expected.
 
Ordered 8:30 AM June 12th, switched to preparing for shipment yesterday at 3:45 PM (NYC)--still stuck in preparing for shipment the time I wrote this. Is this normal? I have 2-3 day shipping and hoping it gets here before the weekend.
 
Oh, called in and got a free item, a superdrive. I had a clever and valid reason. Will reveal later.

Several members have reported it taking over a day to move from preparing to shipping... for some much faster.

Just out of curiosity ... What did she say? I mean what excuse did you use? If your est delivery is let's say.... 7/2-7/9 your upset because ?... It's taking so long?

I was hoping it was gonna be on the flight that is inbound to Memphis right now, since it left 11:30pm or so last night (China Time), but maybe it's sitting with a bundle of them ready to be scanned for the next flight, perhaps?

Any estimate on what time you ordered yours? I got the same configuration, 3-4 weeks, ordered on the 12th @ 11 pm eastern, still processing.

She made a Joke about how she promised she wasn't a Man with a Woman's voice (order is under my name)... then mentioned (jokingly) that her "husband" was wanting to cancel the order and get the one from BestBuy, and that she wouldn't let me. (true)

Then a bunch of other random laughing and chit chat.. don't ask me.
 
does one even need a superdrive? is there a utility to "borrow" another mac's superdrive? Also, can it really be all that super if it doesn't read bluRay??

I was a lucky one that went from preparing to ship to shipped in less than a few hours. I checked last night at 11:30 PM EDT the 25th and it was In Process, at 5:30 AM EDT the 26th it was preparing to ship, and 2 hours later it was shipped but had missed the cutoff. It currently sits in China waiting a flight home to me with a FedEx delivery estimate of Friday the 29th by 10:30 AM EDT.

is there a chance that the apple order status site is on a delay, or for some people, not updating quickly? Cause I feel like being prepared to ship for OVER 24 hours is a bit crazy. A part of me feels like ill refresh it tomorrow morning, and it'll say "shipped" and when I go to track it, its already in Memphis.

I can only hope. :)

Hope your right. I would love to get my Mac before the weekend. I live in Las Vegas. Starting to think ill see it next week.

Ordered around 6:30 pm eastern, 2-3 week estimate at July 3 - 10. It was actually the second time I ordered though, didn't go through EDU discount first time, not sure if that would affect my timing though.

Yes, wishful thinking indeed...it also could be that Apple 'processed' more orders
ahead of schedule in anticipation of stock, and those later in the day are still waiting stock (my order was at 9:30PM EST on the 12th, and it is still preparing).

I'm going to try to not get my hopes up too much, lol

It is wishful thinking, but how exactly does the apple update system work? Is it a fedex/apple code built into their proprietary system? In other words, they scan the "bar code" that both reflects an Apple/Shipping method that allows the tracking info to update?

In other cases, besides Apple, with large batches, sometimes in order to expedite things or if they are in a hurry to make a flight, It is not uncommon to "skip" over a tracking update until it reaches a place where it needs to be sorted based on region.
