I have had the same MBP for over 6 years now. This has been a long time waiting for me so jst wanted to load it up. I am not going to be purchasing another one for a while so why i opted for it loaded..
 
Mine's finally in Anchorage, after taking a vacation in Japan. For some reason there are no flights scheduled to OAK scheduled for today, so I'm giving up hope to receive it by the weekend...
 
I ordered my base model (8 gigs of ram) on monday at 1pm and it shipped this morning from china. FedEx shipping tracker estimates monday the 18th.

I run virtual machines in fusion and so forth, if they had a 32GB option I would have gone for it :D

Upgrading the memory was fairly cheap plus if I plan to have the computer for a while, I don't know when I might run into issues. I really want to run various VMs as well as play games. Who knows what my needs in 3 years are so why not?

I ordered with edu discount. 2.3/16gb. my gift card ship but computer is still processing. I ordered less than 2 hours after the store opened too. What gives?? :mad:
 
Can anyone help understand the info below? I was trying to see if I could locate the flight. It's showing times in EST, however, the scan times seem to be in the future, they show 6/14 late night, when we are not there yet. Is this a flight that is in progress? probably FDX 28?

That's the time in china becuase its friday in china already

The times are the same as mine, but for some reason the site messed up and reversed the AM/PM maybe? They're down to the minute besides that.

Based on http://flightaware.com/live/fleet/FDX 3 or 4 fedex flights are landing in the next 10 minutes, so we'll know soon enough

Worth noting, some machines are hitting japan first it sounds. Theres no way to know the destination our item is on transit to.

I only see one flight originated in Shanghai, that was flight 28 and landed about 8 mins ago. Hopefully it has our machines.
 
I ordered mine the second the Canadian store came online on Monday, base model, and it is still processing. My GC has shipped today though (coming from South Carolina, though this is a Canadian iTunes Card...).

I'm wondering, if I go buy one in a store, should some store have any, and cancel my online order, what happens to that gift card? And do I have to pay for shipping for the TB to Ethernet Adapter if I cancel my order?
 
I ordered a base with ethernet dongle a at around 1:30 PM PST on Monday (when it was 5-7 days for shipping).

Sadly mine is still on processing =(

yeah I bet it does. just remembered it has to pass through customs though (iirc). i bet that'd take an hour or two before we get an update

Not sure about happens with the Ethernet adapter - but you'll notice that when you added the Back To School card to your basket you didn't get it free, it charged you for it and deducted some money from the cost of the MacBook Pro to bring the total price paid up to the cost of the MacBook Pro.

Therefore, if you cancel the MacBook Pro, you'll get the amount you paid for that as indicated on your bill (i.e. the cost of the MBP - the cost of the gift card).
 
Ordered 2x.

1st time (minutes after store online opened) I did not know the ram was non user upgradable. canceled order

2nd time - 3pm mountain time (~ 1.5 hr after store came online). shipping est: 5-7 business days. ships via 2-3 business days.

order is still processing

Ended up working until 1:30, then the wife called...and I headed to the Dentist (code for I'm outta here...cya). Currently typing on the bad boy now. First Mac...and I'm fumbling around like a 16 year old in the back seat of an old Chevy with Sally Jane Rottencrotch.

Pro's - Fast
Con's - I've got damn near 20 years of PC-stink on me....

Any recommendations for tutorials?
