I'm a day 1 order marked 5 - 7 days. My keyboard that I ordered at the same time has arrived today. My gift card was shipped today, too. The laptop remains in "processing." I ordered ~ 5 PM EST. 2.7 GHz / 512 GB / 16 GB w/ Thunderbolt -> Ethernet adapter. Ironically, they had no issues at all charging me right away for AppleCare, despite not having a computer in my hands. All in all, you're not alone.

That happened with my iPad. They got it on a Saturday and wouldn't deliver it until next Thursday. I had to complain before they would agree to ship it on the following Tuesday (since it was Memorial Day Monday). Stupid FedEx.

AppleCare is a package-less thing these days. They'll charge you and send out an envelope with the agreement. That's about all it has been reduced to.

Yes, either Memphis or Indianapolis. You have a good shot at getting it tomorrow. Flights don't leave until 3 or 4am and a flight out of either hub is only 1:30 from BWI.

They won't deliver Sat. That is a special service that Apple doesn't pay for. Truth is Apple should not have charged you for expedited shipping. That is suppose to be for orders that ship from the U.S. There is no expedited for shipments from China. There's only one level of service based on Apple's service contracts w/ UPS and FedEx. If you call Apple you can get a refund on shipping.
 
Mine still shows in Shanghai. Anyone in the same boat?

Same boat. There are no flights in the air from China/Japan to USA. Is it possible its hitting customs outbound of China, or maybe going to Japan (or somewhere else in China) first via boat or truck?

I orderd mine about 14 hours ago. Estimated delivery on july 16-20.
Model: 2.3Ghz/16GB/TB-ethernet/MS-MS2

Just tested something and came to the conclusion that shipping will change to july 12-18 if you don't order an MS-MS2 adapter. I would think that's the easiest part to ship...
Would it help to remove the magsafe adapter from my order or should the whole ting be updated to july 12-18 anyways? :p

Mine's at the same step yours is. I opted for expedited shipping, so it better not be on a boat...
 
So I ordered my retina mbp 45min after the site was back up at the local apple store so I thought the shipment would be pronto. But when I called them today for an update on the shipment they just tell me that it hasn't shipped yet. Is the sales rep full of s*** and not taking the time to track it? they don't even give me an eta. I know it's coming eventually and I have the patience but this customer service doesn't make sence to me. And living in a fairly populated place in Montana there should be no delay in shipment.
And it's a 2.6, 8gigs ram, 512ssd
 
I ordered 5 hours ago and I was put at 3-4 weeks with delivery by July 17:( . I live in Dubai, could that be a reason for it being 3-4 and not 2-3?

I'm in the 2-3 week waiting period right now. I ordered Monday late at night. However, like you- I'm optimistic about the date being wrong since people seem to be receiving theirs far earlier than anticipated.

Unfortunately, I don't have any more information about possible ship dates than that. Lets hope!
 
Okay it seems like it's pretty obvious how they're shipping some of these.

They're shipping the base model line first.
That's why some of you guys who are in the 5-7 day line but have the 2.6 - 2.7 upper base model still is in processing.

They're working from bottom to up. So it looks like tomorrow/monday they're going to start reaching to those who have a 2-3 week ship time for the base model and will start shipping for those in the 5-7 ship time for the upper base model so on and so forth.

Just have patience. You can't do anything but wait and most of us are going to be getting it by the end of next week.

Same boat. Exactly same status for me. My guess they never made the plane out of shanghai. It sure looks like Monday delivery now. Oh well.

It's 9AM in Shanghai now. We'll probably have some movement overnight, but no MBP until Monday.

I really hope you're right. I know Apple tends to delay the shipping of most anticipated products, but I think they botched this a little.

LOL well my FedEx doesn't do that. I got it today though, on the day it's suppose to be delivered.

Anyway mine RMBP is shipped last night (local time) and should be here by Monday. So excited :D

Nope, my 2.7 , 16gb ram, 512gb.

Ordered Monday (10 minutes after store came up)
Got it today at Noon.

I should have been more on point with what I meant. I was just trying to say that it looks like that's what Apple is focused on doing. I know some people with the higher end got theirs but pretty much everyone elses is still in processing while others in the base model line are having theirs shipped.
 
any insight on whether we'll see any movement (from Processing to preparing to ship or whatever) tomorrow, what with it being a saturday in china? or once this business day ends in shanghai are those of us stuck in the processing purgatory there till sunday at the earliest? been following this thread anxiously awaiting my new toy but my guess is since i waited till almost 9pm EST to order that i'll be waiting for at least another week or two.
