Ah, nice explanation, thanks. I hadn't even noticed that's how it worked. So in other words I can't cancel unless I somehow return the gift card. I guess I'll just be patient and wait for my online order to arrive. I've had this computer I'm typing on for 5 years, I suppose I can wait a couple of extra days, even a week if that's the case, before retiring it.
 
I see a couple of 2-3 week guys had their stuff shipped?

Anyone with 7-10 day waits had theirs shipped?

2.6/16/512 still pros sensing here 7-10 days standard shipping.

No, if you cancel you get to pay $100 for the gift card, because you already paid for it.

Where did you see that? I ordered mine like 5 hours after keynote (right when it changed to 2-3 weeks I guess).

Ordered base retina with 16GB upgrade around 6pm EST on Monday. Sitting at shipping in 7-10 days and still in the processing stage. Anyone else having better luck?

Not sure, but once we see that it takes off from AK we can check that time against departure times and we'll be able to figure out the destination. Where are you located?

Baltimore.

I'm guessing they will be routed through Memphis. Kept hoping Monday was wrong, but it's not looking good.

Did they stop doing Saturday? I'm in the S zone (FedEx Saturday shipping site), and paid for the expedited shipping.

I ordered with the Back to School promo and canceled AFTER my gift card shipped. The lady on the phone was very polite and simply told me the gift card would be cancelled (obviously), but I received a full refund.

Funny story with the MS to MS 2 adapter, it was originated from 40 miles away and it got to Fedex hub 2 miles down the road in few hours yesterday, and they refuse to deliver it till tomorrow because "it's not due for delivery."

Really Fedex? UPS would be GLAD to deliver my packages early.

My MS to MS2 adapter was suppose to deliver tomorrow but FedEx delivered today.

Depends on where you are. My iPad (refurbed) went from AK to CA only to go back to OR. It's probably going to a big hub first before it will reach a smaller, regional hub near you.
 
order dates

I just talked with Dianna at Apple (some random customer support lady) and she said that orders have been shipping out earlier than what apple.com has them at. She also said that is you're in the 2-3 week range that you're more likely to get it during the 2nd week rather than the 3rd week.

Hopefully people start to cancel their orders so I can get mine earlier :)
