I know UPS sends pretty good notifications. Not sure about Fedex. Personally, to monitor the Apple order status page I use an application called Simon. It is free in the Mac app store. It basically can be set up to monitor web pages for changes, errors etc. It also integrates with Growl so I have it check the order page for changes every 3 minutes and send me a notification if the status changes. I have Prowl on my iPhone as well so when Simon sees a change, a Growl notification is generated on my Mac, which is set up to send the alert to Prowl on my iPhone. It has worked flawlessly.

Mine says "Preparing for Shipment." Can anyone tell from experience how long it'll be until it's "Shipped"?

You ordered on June 23 and it's already preparing for shipping? How did you manage that one? Lucky! :confused:

What the...? June 21, base model, EDU discount here...as are a bunch of people ahead of us. This makes no sense.

Does anyone know the latest order date that has gone into "Preparing for Shipping"/"Shipped"? I've seen June 17 but I don't know what to believe as people have been messing with the spreadsheet so often. :confused:
 
Argh the waiting is finally getting to me. Come on Apple you know it makes sense to make me wake up happy tomorrow morning seeing my order change from processing to preparing.

as a base spec 13th order its this sort of thing that is starting to really bug me... Totally understand the cost savings etc of batch building but its getting the point where it just seems to be a lottery and I'm loosing!!!!

Anybody else a 13th of before how many of us are there left????
 
I have no idea guys, if somebody wants to tell me how to take a screen cap in chrome I will. I tried to get one in store for awhile, but got tired of running around getting told they had one and actually not that I just ordered online. I got my back to school $100 gift card today. It states preparing for shipment for the RMBP and won't let me change/cancel. It still says ships in 3-4 weeks with a delivery between July 24-30.

This is my first Mac hence the new account.

A base spec 12th (It was Australian 12th so it might have even been a US 11th) still in processing. Think I'll cancel on Monday.
 
Looking at the spreadsheet someone prepared on Google, not too many 768GB equipped units are shipping. It does appear that, that might be one of the hold ups! I guess Apple didn't think it will be that popular.

How come you get preparing so fast?! just three days after your order. No one is fast as you. So lucky! I ordered a same spec macbook pro on 23rd, still processing! damn!
 
Does anything actually ship out of the factory over the weekend? My order is in "preparing" will it be stuck there til monday or will it begin making it's way to me before?

Took three days for me....should be shipped by Sunday if pattern holds

no..you will have to set that up
 
omg! mine just went to preparing for shipment! can anybody tell me how long this typically takes until it ships from this stage? Thanks heaps:)
