I hate TNT...

Im confused!!! I placed my order for a 2.7/16/768 thru Apple Business with 3-4 week delivery. I also ordered a base 2.6 for my brother a week later on 6/27, also thru apple business which will be deliver on 7/6? Mine is still processing???
Has anyone else ordered a rMBO thru apple business? Is it just lucky that the other one has shipped? I don't want to get excited yet if I have to wait another 2 weeks for mine.

Unfortunately, not necessarily. It's taken 16 days for Apple to get through the orders from 11th to 15th (and there are still a lot outstanding on these dates) to get to mine. I don't expect it to be another couple of weeks to get to yours as production must be ramped up by now but I suspect longer than 5 days. I was originally quoted a delivery date range of 7/17 - 7/23. I'll be interested to see if this changes when my order changes to shipped... or it may mean I'll sit in the preparing for shipment for a few days... but hopefully not!

???? I ordered 6/11. Still processing!!! Called apple complained a lot, basically said they didn't believe that anybody that ordered after me had gotten there computer yet.

2.6/16/768

Thats the exact model i bought. Think its the best deal. Although I used my student status. Also thankfully sales tax here is not so high as where u are... ouch.

For those of you who ordered via EDU, does the $100 giftcard deliver with the rMBP? or does it come separately in the mail? on my apple order status page, it used to says 'track order' (with NONE as the tracking order) to 'print invoice.'
Thanks!

I think it depends on where you are, i heard that in Canada/US you get it shipped separately, where as in Europe they ship together... but then again who knows :p

Im in Vancouver, Canada, ordered mine on 6/27 and still processing but im supposed to get the gift card by tomorrow...

I don't think I've ever read so many posts on a forum before haha, everyone is so anxious to get the rMBP, I know I am! I've never had a Mac before, so this is going to be quite a change for me... used to hate apple up until i got my first iPod shuffle few years back, that changed my whole outlook on Apple products.. pretty much a fan boy now.:)

There is more then one line here bud. Some are express lines for certain products and others are the slow lines. Apple isn't a hardware store.

Again, we're talking about the same product/config (RMBP 2.7/16/768) from the same store (online).

----------

Every one of us knew the estimated shipment duration before we finalized our purchases. While we are being optimistic and hoping for earlier shipments, there is nothing unfair about shipment terms that were made apparent during the transaction.

If you do not like it, cancel your order and get a PC.

I haven't called Apple to complain about my order exactly because of that. If they miss their estimated time, then I'll call, but that doesn't change the fact that it's unfair.

I don't like it, but I'm not planning on cancelling my order. Why is it that you assume if someone doesn't like something that Apple does/did that they have to abandon all and everything that's tied to them? I can think for myself and won't just assume EVERYTHING Apple related must be correct and works as intended.

Ordered 6/15 through Apple business at the Pasadena store.

Order still processing as of now.

3-4 week estimate so I expect it to ship between this Friday and next Friday.

Woohoo finally!

Reporting safe arrival of 2.6/16/768 from early 13/6 order, to NZ.

It's lovely. Exactly as I expected. The screen is fantastic. This whole it's-awful-when-web-pages-and-apps-aren't-retina-enabled is just twaddle, sorry. The non-retina parts are fine (as good as they would usually be). The retina parts are superb, at least as good as the ipad3 if not better. And, of course, everything is going to get better as apps and websites catch up.

All the resolutions are great. Running in 2880x1800 is quite doable on your lap (only problem is that it isn't retina!). Otherwise 1920x1200 is fine for most things.

All I'm struggling with is OSX, as this is all new to me coming from PC-land. One quick question for the experts... is there any way of inverting the mouse/trackpad scroll direction? I have a bluetooth mouse and both it and the trackpad scroll in the opposite direction to the one I'm used to and that feels more natural. I can see options for changing the scroll speed but not for inverting the direction...

EDIT: Found it... the "move in the direction of scrolling" tickbox is the one... lovely now!

2880x1800 is totally retina. No chance of seeing any pixels there.

Well, not sure about that. What I mean, of course, is that it isn't HiDPI. You can see that the text looks like a "normal" computer, you know, that old-fashioned way when they used to make characters out of separate dots on the screen... :)

Congrats on the new rMBP!

To change the scroll direction go to...
System Preferences-->Trackpad-->Scroll & Zoom
...and turn off "Scroll direction: Natural"

There's a similar setting for the mouse.

;)

Just placed my order a couple hours ago.

2.6/16/512

No confirmation e-mail has been sent yet. When do these usually arrive?

Funds have not been taken out of my account either. Is this a 4th of July thing?

Day 22, still processing. Starting my 4th week of waiting now. They said it'll ship in 3-4 weeks so they have 6 more days before I give them a nasty phone call.
