I called and kind of "complained" more about people ordering later and getting their machines after me, but my order is still within the window of being on time, so it wasn't good enough of a complaint. Not even reimbursed "rushed/expedited" shipping $15 that I paid. B

Oh well
You didn't complain hard enough.

FYI

2.6 / 16 / 512 ordered on 6/16 (UK order) has just gone into preparing for shipment within the last couple hours. Just thought the info would be useful for other folks on 6/16 orders wondering when they would see progress.

Thanks for sharing. Does that mean I'm only five long business days away from the same news (ordered on the 21st)? Of course, it's no indicator and I should expect the worst, but a little hope isn't a bad thing. Congrats on your new status. Out of curiosity, can you provide the delivery date range you were originally quoted? Cheers!

Unfortunately, not necessarily. It's taken 16 days for Apple to get through the orders from 11th to 15th (and there are still a lot outstanding on these dates) to get to mine. I don't expect it to be another couple of weeks to get to yours as production must be ramped up by now but I suspect longer than 5 days. I was originally quoted a delivery date range of 7/17 - 7/23. I'll be interested to see if this changes when my order changes to shipped... or it may mean I'll sit in the preparing for shipment for a few days... but hopefully not!

The fallacy in your logic is that orders are not uniformly distributed over time. The glut of orders were in the first week, and they have since tailed off (some). While I agree that the OP might be slightly optimistic, I don't think we are looking at the same length of time to satisfy the next 4 days of orders.

As a 17th order in Canada with the exact same specs...Thats great news to hear! Thanks for sharing.

Yeah I'm in the same boat as you guys, probably in between you two. Ordered at 23:00 GMT -4 on the 16th.

16th Order still processing . . .

I have been following this thread since ordering my 2.6/16/512 GIG on the 16th, and just now saw the first person also ON the 16th report a status change to "Preparing for Shipment." That is the good news I have been looking for, ignoring the outliers who for whatever reason got theirs shipped quickly even when they ordered later.

I agree with a previous poster that the spike of orders would obviously be clumped together mainly on the 11th and 12th, and trail off to a more manageable level in the days that follow, so I would also expect those waiting who ordered on the 16th and after are going to see their shipment dates realized sooner. (Cash value, two units of the smallest denomination of your local currency.)

The fallacy in your logic is that you did not read my post in its entirety. HAH :)
I quite agree which is why I said in the post that I don't think it would be another couple of weeks (okay, that is only 14 days instead of 16). However, I would be surprised at this moment in time if we are now looking at 1 business day to clear each of the remaining orders. Apple should be catching up though :)

I should have said "similar." If you look at the spreadsheet, the distribution tails off precipitously. I wouldn't be shocked if his ships in a week.

Last update on my Fedex tracking is still "In transit" from Anchorage at 2:19pm yesterday. If it was on FDX94 it arrived at Memphis around 11:30pm, so I'm guessing it just never updated because they had already shut down for the 4th of July. Hoping they can fly it to Philly tomorrow, though FlightAware doesn't show any planned flights from Memphis to Philly so I'm starting to worry it won't even get here until Friday. Oh well.

Yeah I hope so, I hate waiting for things I buy so would be good for other folks to start getting movement on their orders soon too :D

US bound 2.7/16/768 6/11 2 PM PST 3-5 week order still processing.

Same, no change. I will not formally complain to Apple about this situation until the 9th, as I already accepted the 3-5 week window, regardless of the lucky guys that ordered after us getting theirs early.

$100 Gift Card

For those of you who ordered via EDU, does the $100 giftcard deliver with the rMBP? or does it come separately in the mail? on my apple order status page, it used to says 'track order' (with NONE as the tracking order) to 'print invoice.'
Thanks!

Thanks for the positive vibes! It's an exciting time to be materialists. If I complain about capitalist greed within the next year, I should be labeled the world's biggest hypocrite, as I'm feeding right into the system!

Separate and almost immediate.

Yeah! Maybe... I'd guessed Germany next, but who knows!

You were right. :)

Now just leaving Poland (9:13pm Local Time)!

The tour continues! Just arrived in Germany!

Exactly the same like mine. Arrived in Koeln (Cologne), Germany, 10:54 p.m. CEST. The fourth plane obviously since China. Cologne is almost exactly the same track in length (10 hours to go by car according to Maps app) as Warsaw (what was the stop before) from my home. Runs in circles around Vienna. ;-)

This might be a US vs UK thing, but I ordered on the 21st, and my student gift card is bundled with my rMBP order and has not been delivered yet.

Yep, in the UK they deliver to a central sorting facility and then add any extras (super drive, gift card etc.) before sending it to you... Is a pain as it adds extra time to your delivery!
