i just hope some people who've already received their machines are willing to help us figure out what's going on. it sucks that this is the only way we've been given to resolve this issue - and that no one at apple is wiling to investigate.

we need 2.7/16/768s who ordered 6/12 or later, shipping to the us, and have received shipping notices. please help.

3-5 week club.

I submitted a "Hold at Location" request almost right after it shipped because I didn't trust the herp-derp employees of my apartment complex to sign off and hold my package (they've lost things in the past, sent them back with no notification to me they'd even received an item), and at the time it told me to check back later for status. It now say "At FedEx destination facility" as of about a half our ago. Should I just stroll into the FedEx I designated? Would they just need my tracking info and ID, or?

you will need your ID, and would hurt to have tracking ID. Plus they will give you a call one it is at the location to be picked up.

Finally....

2.6/16/512 Prepairing for Shipment...

Ordered on 6/15/12 with an initial delivery date of 7/19 - 7/25 but I called in to get free expadited shipping which moved it to 7/13 - 7/19. I also received the free drive too.

How'd you go about asking/getting the SuperDrive? I'm thinking about callin cuz I'm the same boat as you order date wise

See, how did a person who ordered the same model as me, 2 days after me, get there's shipped/delivered first? This is the stuff that makes me mad.

It's not like there is only one assembly line putting together all the orders.

Depending on which facility gets the order, and how each facilities stocked, weather, sick employees, etc......There are bound to be variations in the order which invoice are fulfilled.

Preparing to Ship

Ordered 2.3/16/256 on the 15th.
Sometime between 2AM and 10AM today, my status changed to Preparing for Shipment.

I got sick of waiting for rMBP to ship so I ordered one of these a few days ago:

http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/...oks/ThinkPad notebooks/W Series/ThinkPad W530

It arrived. Bah I can't believe apple keep cocking up releases like this, doesn't seem to happen to anyone else. Well I wont be getting a rMBP until they sort themselves out maybe i'll get it with the Haswell refresh as they should have enough time to sort themselves out by then!

how is that a replacement for mbp retina?

----------

Yeah thats fair. I'm starting my 3rd week of waiting now. I got charged last Friday for the price of the computer, and I'm still in the processing stage. I imagine once I get to the end of the 3rd week I'm going to start getting miffed if I don't see any movement.

You should be 'miffed' now since you card has been charged. This normally only happens when your item has been shipped.

Just picked up my 2.3/16/256 at the Fedex Office location... seeing is truly believing. As somebody who's jumping back from using a clunky PC, I feel like I just stepped out of a time machine. This thing is incredible.

Hi all... first post, first Mac.

Ordered a 2.7/16/768 w/ priority shipping on 6/14 which put me in the 7/12-18 group.

Received shipping notification 6/30 with an estimated delivery date of 7/6.:D

Was super stoked about the about early shipping but my order has been stuck "In Transit" in Anchorage since 7/2 2:48pm. The worst part is that I live in Anchorage and drive by the FedEx hangers every day.

I called FedEx this afternoon to get the scoop. The rep I talked with said this shipment was pending customs clearance and that the Alaska bound freight still needed to be pulled from the shipment before the rest proceeded to the lower 48. He said the division that handled bulk shipments (LTL?) was closed for the 4th and that I'd be better off calling them Thursday morning for an update.:(

Hope I'm wrong but sounds like the rest of you on this flight might be delayed another day.

Anyways, stay strong... the wait will be worth it.:apple:

I can see losing a day due to July 4th.

Apple sporadically place a hold on your card whilst you have an active order to make sure the funds are available for when they charge you when the item ships. I had this hold on my account for a few days before it was removed. I'm in the preparing to ship stage at the moment and the amount as of yet has not been taken.

My MBPR has also been stuck at Anchorage since july 3rd, 2 pm. Aaaaahhhh estimated delivery is july 6th also, I live in California, does anyone have any idea where my laptop is. My baby is stuck in Alaska, poor thing its freezing its ass of right now.

I am stuck with a sh**ty HP laptop with a geekbench score of 1170, can't wait to use a first time apple notebook with 12000 geekbench score, so stoked.

June 13 9am order delivered

2.6/16/512 DELIVERED !

6/13 9 AM MDT ordered on line EDU with w/ Ether and VGA adapters
Given estimate of 7/12-18 (3 to 4 weeks)

6/29 9 PM MDT went to Prep for Shipping (16 days and 12 hours)

6/30 6 AM MDT went to SHIPPED (9 hours)

Delayed in China, stopped in Japan, delayed 2 days in AK, vacationed JULY 4th in Indianapolis , delivered 10:30 am MDT in Colorado. Compared to many others swift shipping, it seems like this rMBP ran into a series of delays toward the end, but it made it to the finish line. 3 weeks and a day.

Please update spreadsheet.

Enjoy!

looking through the spreadsheet, i've messaged these people to ask if they're willing to send apple their order numbers:
bachata-crazy
JoshRtek
andru1313
Neupro

i could not find or message mludviksen, and Korn.

these are only people shipping to the us, ordered after 611 (6/12 or later), and ordered the 2.7/16/768 model. if anyone else can help with this, remember any others who fit this criteria, anything, i sure would appreciate it.

sincerely, 3-5 week club.

I ordered my 2.7/16/768 through my company's Apple Business Rep. Unfortunately, I don't really have any access to check on the order number or any way to check the status of the order. Our IT Manager will e-mail me when it ships, so that'll be the soonest I hear anything.

This Retina MacBook Pro will become my new, main computer, but at the moment, I can make-do with my ancient Mac Pro (1,1) and Mid-2007 MacBookPro.

For whatever the reason, it seems the 768 GB drive is in scarce supply. My estimated delivery window is between July 25th and July 31st. If it hasn't arrived bby the 31st, then I'll make a stink.

There is way to much nerd rage in this thread...

All of you agreed to the shipping terms when you placed your order.

(Nearly) all of you will have gotten your laptops within the promised delivery period when all is said and done.

Calm down, grow up...or cancel and get a Dell.

Not sure if any of you out there are photographers, but I just recently witnessed similar insanity for the Nikon D4/D800/D800E release. Delivery waitlists months in length, zero communication from Nikon, nor the big photography retailers (Adorama, B&H, and Amazon).

Granted, the rMBP is a consumer product, while Nikon's latest full frame cameras are of a more limited accessibility, but the four month wait for a D4 was insane.

I ordered a dell once, i had fun using it as a hot plate for cooking my noodles

I've been biting my tongue from saying the same thing. And with everybody calling Apple to ask why people that "ordered after them got their item before them" is futile. Of course they're going to say it isn't the case. The reps on the phone CAN'T go and look at other people's orders and can't give that PRIVATE info over the phone. I ordered a base 2.3 on 06/19 and my earliest expected delivery is 07/20. I would live to get it earlier but what am I going to do? Call for a super drive? Ask them why the Apple Store near me had a couple of base models already and that's outrageous that people can walk in and pick it up while I have to wait? I knew the wait time when I made the order. It's not that everybody is getting screwed on their delivery times, it's this thread that's creating a flashy mob of people that think they've been inconvenienced. If you don't like it than cancel your order, go on whatever trips you need to go on and order it when it's in stock. Get on with your life because it's just a computer.

I'm not trolling. I'm coming to this thread to get a general sense of which orders on which dates are starting to go out. It gives me a bit of hope when I see some people getting theirs up to 9 days earlier than the earliest expected delivery date from Apple. I'm getting tired of all these people acting like some sort of crime has been committed because Paul got his Macbook before Peter.....

is the itunes card is delivered via normal envelope mail??

I think it should come in either FEDEX or DHL, i am waiting to get mine, the gift card is supposed to come in today!!! i just wish the laptop was also coming today, but my window is Jul 27- Aug 3... blah :(
