So heres my story. Tried to order on zero hour, Barclay had an internal issue and I had to wait for the physical card to arrive. So I ordered the pro 2 days later - shipping for the stock 2.3 +16GB was bumped from 7 days to July 12:eek: Talked to my parents who convinced me it was worth paying extra for the bigger SSD. Changed my order to the 2.6 + 16GB on June 18. Shipping date: July 16-20 :( They tried to charge the card today but had an issue and emailed me about it.:eek::eek: I called and they told me someone had accidentally put a limit on my barclaycard and they were trying to charge $2000 to my Credit card with a $1500 limit. The woman was very pleasant in helping me out and fixing my problem. I thank her and get excited that the Mac will soon ship: right as Im getting ready to say goodbye she asks me if there was any accessories I would like for my troubles.

Got me a free superdrive:cool:

love there call-center to death!

I am kind of shocked that ordering a laptop from Apple would be this exhausting. This will be my first Apple laptop and I really am looking forward too it but this wait is kind of ridiculous. I mean I ordered 2.6/512/16GB on the 16th that is five days out from official release. I would expect a week to catch up but four weeks seems a little long. I have bought two BTO desktops and got those in less than a week and apple is just making low number of configurations it should not take this long. I would be interested to see sell numbers so I would feel more comfortable about whats going on (if they are high) but if sales are lower than thought I probably will be floored

The order process was easy and simple over the phone but this is giving me an aneurysm.

Hopefully the 16th orders get shipping soon

Why the flying ******* is Apple shipping laptops to those who have ordered 16-18 when they still have those who have ordered on the 11th still processing?

Just out of curiosity has anybody asked for an Apple TV instead of a superdrive when asked if they want something because of their wait?

Thats wishful thinking, the apple store page still states a 3-4 week wait time, if there had been a huge fall off in demand it would have gone down.

Also dont forget that some (probably a lot) of capacity will be taken up producing stock for stores.

It could very well be wishful thinking, but I really don't think so. A large number of people are seeing their computers ship a few days early already. 3-4 days is the most common currently. I honestly think that orders tapered off dramatically after the 13th-ish. Shipping estimate went to 3-4 weeks on the 13th. I'm sure that had to hurt the influx of orders. We also didn't see the estimate go any longer since that point.
However, after second thought, you're probably right, 7 days is a stretch. I still think 10-11 days is a good bet. That'd be about a week early on their estimate. We're seeing 3 days as it is and it should only get better. *fingers crossed*

Edit: I just went to make a mock order. With today's order of 7/6 and 2-3 days shipping, you're looking at an 8/2-8/8 estimated time frame. That's one day ahead of the schedule they quoted me for my order on 7/2 with a delivery of 7/30-8/3, once you adjust for the 4 day order difference. I'm gonna try this again here and there and see how the delivery date varies to see if they're moving up the dates.

I am sure a lot of people are put off by the 3 to 5 week waiting times and if they decide not to order that should help apple catch up with the huge back log but how long that takes is anybody's guess

I'd call apple or check a local apple store, if you have one. I would be quite angry if I were in your shoes too. I'd also mention to Apple, if you call, that these were supposed to be available 6/11, according to Tim Cook.

Out of curiosity, what was your shipping window? Was it a 2.7/16/768 config?

My sentiments exactly. I see you're in the exact same boat me, too. 2.3/16/256 7/2 order date with same delivery date. Here's to hoping it's muchhhhh sooner.

Shipped!

My order from 6/15 shipped as of yesterday night. Scheduled delivery by 7/10, although I think its safe to assume Fedex will deliver by 7/09 itself.

Order Details: 2.3/16/256, EDU discount, $100 Gift Card, Superdrive, Thunderbolt-Gigabit Ethernet Adapter.

They are giving production priority to their stores. Its obvious to me now after having been to several which all have base models in stock.

Profits wise it would make sense, a lot of people will be buying them in store. For bto people it is frustrating but they know most people will wait (as this is the way they always do it).

Unfortunately online orders just have a lower priority. I dont know how long it usually takes things to settle down after a product launch but it doesn't look like wait times will be getting shorter anytime soon.

I did Tuesday, they said no payment issue, and it's still within the window to get to me by the estimated delivery date, and the only reason she could think of was more base models are being produced to go out to Apple retail stores vs BTO models that were made for online orders.

I still don't think it's fair. It's like waiting in line and the people behind you getting served first when you were in line first.

No idea.

And now for more flight tracking...

My reference number isn't being accepted by Expeditors, but I'm guessing it's going to be on FDX28.

FDX28 was scheduled to take off at 20:30 China Standard Time (UTC-8). It's now 21:19, and it hasn't taken off yet according to FlightAware, although ZSPD is out of FlightAware's full service area. The 7-day average is 21:17 for departure from ZSPD, so it's not out of the norm, though.

My laptop is finally out for delivery. Hopefully it shows up sooner rather than later. Can't wait!

Same day and same config order as you, and we're going to be on the same flight :)

So, I ordered a rMBP through my business at the apple store in santa monica. 3 days later I still didn't receive a confirmation....I went ahead and just ordered it online and cancelled the supposed order at the store, got a confirmation in 15 mins. I won't do that again!

If this is an 8gb 2.3 then something is wrong with your order. Those have been taking 7-10 days to get. Newegg and several retailers have them in stock.

No idea. I called Apple on the 2nd. They said nothing was wrong. If it gets to the 9th and I'm still on "Processing" I'm calling them again.
