Macbook Pro 2012 Order Status thread (all models)

How are people tracking flights? I've put my reference number into http://expo.expeditors.com/ and its saying:

Booked
SHANGHAI, CHINA TO LONDON, ENGLAND
Export P/O Received: 05-Jul-2012 16:12:00 GMT

So from that i'm assuming that its flying from China straight to London?
 
Moved to preparing

6/15 2.6/16/512 USA/TX Order changed to preparing last night! YES!!!!! Light at the end of the tunnel.

I was told by an apple associate that a big reason for the delays is 3rd party vendors! So the reason you have to wait a month for your new computer...is because Newegg and several retailers have them in stock!

There is something wrong with apples online ordering system. The exact same thing happened to me. No explanation. Check your credit card because a hold was placed on my card for the first order even though there was no confirmation e-mail and nothing showing up under my online order section.

23rd order here. I hope we see progress soon. If it weren't for the 12 months 0% financing on the barclay card, I would just go to best buy or somewhere and get a freaking base model. But also trying my best to hold out for the 16GB ram

I will, thanks, I spoke with the business associate at the store yesterday and he said it still wasn't confirmed with them yet...meaning they were probably too lazy to enter it! I will make sure to not be charged twice....and if I get a second unit I will just sell it...since there is such a delay I would be able to get more for it than its worth...LOL.

yep...that is most common story (beat my estimate by 6 days).

Maybe we will finally be about to pick up in the stores soon.

Hopefully as time goes on they will go from about a week ahead to 2 weeks ahead for shipping and then to their standard for 3 to 4 or 5 to 7 day shipping.

Sadly, early adoption always takes time! I don't know why they didn't offer the $2799 model with 16GB ram in store tho! That's obviously the most popular config!

Definitely agree if they offered that config worldwide that would be so much better than been forced to wait weeks on end for a BTO 16gb option.

Profits wise it would make sense, a lot of people will be buying them in store. For bto people it is frustrating but they know most people will wait (as this is the way they always do it).

Unfortunately online orders just have a lower priority. I dont know how long it usually takes things to settle down after a product launch but it doesn't look like wait times will be getting shorter anytime soon.

Prior to rMBP, My only experience with ordering was with pre-ordered iphone.
Which was awesome since it came 1 day before the ship date.

I guess this wasn't too bad since I recieved the laptop within 10 business days (free express delivery) when standard shipping was 5 - 7 days after being shipped.

Good luck with yours, I'm sure it will prepare soon if mine just processed. It seems like there aren't too many people on the forum with our configuration.

Then you would be forced to wait weeks until they showed up in stores as that would probably be in high demand.
