Mine is on the final hurdle. Currently on a ferry over the Irish Sea. Should arrive here by end of day tomorrow!! Cant wait! Ordered 7/11

There were only, let me see... a total of three flights from either Anchorage to Memphis or Anchorage straight to Newark between yesterday 2:21pm AKDT and now. But of course why would FedEx put my rMBP on one of those? What a preposterous thought! Let it sit there for a good 24+ hours!

Mine hung out in Anchorage for a few days then went to Newark even though I live in Illinois, so Memphis would have been the more logical option.

Oh well. I'm just confused because a lady from FedEx called me yesterday to let me know it'd be here today. I would love if she's right, but if it's really in Newark, I'm doubting.

It changed to preparing to shipment at about 8:30pm last night MST. I think they get them ready kind of late. Try checking around then. FedEx picked it up at 5:30am which is I think about when it started saying shipped. The tracking number came right before 5:30.

Does anyone know if FedEx delivers on Saturdays for the standar shipping option? The problem is I might not be able to get home on Friday to meet the shipping person and sign for my rMBP. FedEx says on the tracking page "August 6, by 4:30pm" as the estimated delivery time. Assuming I can't make it home before they get there will they try and redeliver on Saturday? Has anyone here recieved their MBPs on a Saturday?

They won't deliver on Saturday for standard shipping. If you're not there, you won't get it until Monday.

Why not have them hold it at a nearby Fedex Office (or something) and pick it up at your convenience? That's what I did since it's rare I get out of work before 7.

How do I ask them to do that? Can I choose which FedEx location it is left at? I looked around on the tracking page and there isn't a hold option. If they hold it at a location, are they open on Saturdays?

My $100 GC to the mac app store got shipped.
Thunderbolt to Gigabit Ethernet cord is getting ready for shipment.
My rMBP 2.6/16GB/512GB SSD is processing :(

You can call FedEx's 1 800 number and their automated system will walk you through it. It's actually one of the better automated systems I've dealt with.

I have to do it cuz I currently live in an apt with seedy neighbors. :eek:

It will give you the option of ones that are around based off your delivery location if there are multiple locations. There are 2 around me and I was able to choose.

Also, I don't know if this is legitimate, but when the lady from FedEx called me yesterday to confirm the holding, she said Apple's (NOT FedEx's) policy is that they try delivering to the home at least once before holding the package.

I'm calling shenanigans.
 
This is insanity. Why the hell did FedEx ever take my rMBP to that god-forsaken hellhole that is Anchorage? Had they just waited until the Monday Shanghai-Memphis flights, I could already had it delivered today!

But no, now it's sitting in Anchorage for what will be (by the time they get it on a plane again) 48-72 hours because there are no otehr FedEx flights to Memphis or Newark today.

But that begs the question of why didn't these idiotic cretins just put the package on one of the three flights bound for either of those two places yesterday? The package had already cleared customs hours before those flights! Bloody idiots.
 
So I ordered 7/25, I sent an email inquiring when it would ship, they told me the expected ship date is 8/3.

In Denmark u can't pick carrier, im not even sure Fedex operates here?! apparently it's either UPS or TNT, my bf got the new Air delivered by TNT, it stod still for 4 days.

Besides the fact that my package spent a few days in Cologne, Germany I really can't complain about UPS, and I'll still receive it before the original estimate. Their tracking site gets updated immediately.

But I'm sure there's some logistics we as consumers can't decipher, like why did my mbpr make a stop in Dubai??? :)

Anyways 2moz is D-day!!!

Really they have to try and deliver it first to my house? Do they actually check the box, see it's from apple, and try to deliver it anyway regardless of your request? A couple people in this thread said Fedex told them the same thing when they called but I they never mentioned if Fedex actually followed through or not.

I found the option on my tracking page and set it up to be held. :)

It hasn't even left shanghai yet so hopefully it just goes straight to the shipping center rather than taking an extra day like the hold page said it might.

Hey guys! :) any idea how long before the estimated delivery date does it change from processing to preparing to ship or shipping? Dont see how its possible to deliver by 02/08/12, if the status is still showing processing now, of course it might still deliver between between 02/08/2012 - 08/08/2012 but it still shows shipping 2 -3 weeks! iv also been reading through the thread and it seems many people are getting theirs before the expected delivery date. Hope mine will be changing soon? :confused:

Please notice that your estimate delivery date is from 02/08 up to 08/08. This means that it can be delivered on the 8th of August ( I hope you get it sooner but for some reason it seems that the 2.6 models are shipping sooner).
