Ordered my MacBook Pro with Retina 2.7/16/756 on the 9th. It still says "Processing Items". Any idea of when I should expect it to ship? Or if it will come earlier then the expected arrival date Aug 21-23?

I am leaving for school on the 22nd so I am a little nervous it won't be here on time.

In general, rMBPs have been arriving earlier than or at the beginning of the estimated delivery dates. With luck, that'll still be true for you.

is it worth the 100 dollar extra for 2.6?
That's a bit unclear. IIRC, going from 2.3 to 2.6 is something like a 10-12% speed boost. Most people probably won't notice the speed difference, but others will need the higher speed. Going from 2.6 to 2.7 is, I think, another 10% or so (10% above the 2.6 speed, not the 2.3 speed). It's really up to you to figure out if the extra speed is worth the cost.

Edit: most people will be happy with the base 2.3. The upgraded processors are typically needed mainly by those who do something that involves a lot of number crunching.

number crunching? excel?

I originally ordered a 2.3, 16, 256 rMBP on 7/28 but canceled and reordered a 2.6, 16, 256 on 8/2. It went to preparing for shippment on 8/8 and shipped on 8/9. It is currently scheduled to be delivered 8/14 (California).

This will be my first Mac. Looking forward to it. :)

Hey fatty, you need to chill out. Does it really affect you in any personal level how many times anyone asks anything at all? if it does you should probably want to consider looking for professional help. It's a forum, people ask questions and there is no general rule that enforces a limit on how many times anyone may ask a question, it doesn't cost you anything anytime anyone decides to ask anything and it does not affect you or your personal life either.. if you can't say reply anything constructive to any question just go ahead and ignore it and keep going with your life.. after all nobody here is forcing anyone to read posts or to reply to them.

I really don't think he's the one who needs the help...its the guy he's trying to help LOL

Seriously you need to stop.
+1

Every time I read "2.6", I can rest assured the next post will be by iLikeTurtles asking "Is the upgrade worth the $100"?

The problem is both the number of times he asked the same question (at least 30, indeed), and the places it's asked in; like this thread where the upgrade is off topic. Creates clutter. Plus, the answers are often accurate and alike, yet he keeps on asking.
