MAC newbie here...OK, I'm not getting a rMBP ...just a regular one on Monday (MBP 13" 2.9 i7) ...but I'm still excited because it's my first real MAC. :D
My eventual plans are to upgrade to a 512GB SSD / 16GB RAM in addition to swapping out the Super Drive with the included 750HDD that comes with it so it'll have 2 drives in there....gonna be awesome!.
I'm not in any hurry so I'll wait until prices really drop on the SSD's before buying one. RAM is cheap so I might upgrade that right away.

Does Apple ship replacements from china at weekend? The support line told me that it would be come with express :)

Got many white pixels on my Samsung display... 4-5 days after I've received it. Looks like a cloud :(

Got a text from Apple this morning:

Shipped: 8/24
Delivers: 8/30

From my own experience, the waiting game was more exciting. Once I received my rMBP, I realized the anticipation was more fun, although I am loving my new machine. I'll probably keep this until the next generation Macbook Pro comes out, in 4 or 5 years?

Eh, this is a tool.

As a said in the thread before, I am not really anticipating the machine. I won't even be around when it arrives. Just reporting my status for others who are making plans to buy.

Wow... I haven't played this game in a while.... at least not since the iPad 2 (then it was the iPad 1 before that!!).

Anyways - I ordered on Monday, it went to processing on Tuesday-Wednesday and it's now enroute to me.

I paid for expedited shipping, so these delivery dates from FedEx don't look all the correct. I'm thinking my rMBP is on FedEx flight 90 Shanghai - Memphis now. I just can't get any current flight info.

So it's the 2.7/16GB/768 or ultimate as some would call it. Lets see what happens!! I hope FedEx will impress me.

Edit: The flight finally popped up on Flightaware, so I would imagine mine would be on that one.

Hey guys

In the product discription of my shipment status i find:

"MBP 15.4/2.3/CTO"

I hope this is not the processor (2.3), because i ordered the 2.6ghz, which is correct on my account page on the apple store site.

Just wanted to share my super fast experience

Hopefully, you all experience this kind of speed (especially for the Canadians).

I ordered my MacBook on Sept. 2nd (which was a Sunday). I also paid for expedited shipping.
Apple's estimated delivery date was Sept. 12-14.
Picked my MacBook Pro up at the Fedex office in Toronto, ON on Sept. 7.

How long does it take for the "commercial invoice clearance delay" to be rectified?

Status changed at 7:00 am UK time. Now saying shipped and is giving me an estimated delivery date of the 15/10/2012. UPS are the carrier, which I don't like cause they are known for throwing parcels around. Tracking on the UPS tracking page isn't working yet with the number I was given. I hope it'll be delivered earlier.
