Derby St. didn’t have any. Everyone else seemed to. Markedly different than iPhone 13. Guy at the Legacy Place store said he doesn’t expect iPhone 13 inventory until December.
I paid with Apple credit card. Won’t Apple back me up if that happens? You’re making me nervous now. Am I going to have to return this one and place another order with in store drop off ?
Just go to the store. I traded in my 2018 macbook pro yesterday to the apple store(I didnt want to go today with all the craziness going on, I havent been to the apple store since before the pandemic started) I had already formatted mine, turned off find my mac, etc..even included the original box since I didnt need it anymore. The whole thing took 10 minutes and that was only due to me yapping so much LOL. He gave me a gift card plus a receipt for the 540 and I left..super simple
Is this something people worry about? I've never done mail trade in, but I just agreed to it. Was planning to take pics before I send it in, but other than that wasn't worried. I can imagine it's not impossible to get lost or damaged - what is hard for me to imagine is that Apple would take that out on me. I'm shipping it back in their box - if it's damaged that's their problem, no?
They told me to keep mine, they said it used to increase the value before but doesn't anymore, so they don't want it
They don't want the charger or cables. It's very easy in-store.
And yes, there have been numerous complaints about Phobio. I'm not sure how it works, but it's possible all the in-store trade-ins go to Phobio also. It's just smarter to do in-store as it takes the stress out of it.
My sales person didn't even open my trade-in. Didn't even look at it except to check the serial. It was in good shape though. Maybe they just assumed it was nice, because I'm nice.

I kept mine..its the 61W USB-C power adapter..and I kept the cable too..I was hoping maybe I can sell it on amazon but so far I am not able to find it on amazon to sell, figured I could make some extra cash(Am going to buy the 14 inch macbook pro just waiting for apple to start the extended holiday returns I think its around november 10th like every yr) I made an appt with an apple specialist(Mac) shopping specialist and thats it, no need for an apple genius the earlier you go the better less busy
Oh wow, that is the configuration I am after. None in my area have this; pickup just says unavailable for that configuration.
Did you add the trade in at the time of purchase or did you just bring it in when you did your pick up?
I must say this thread was fun - I haven't done a all night / launch discussion since the iPhone 8+ I think. I hope everyone got the notebook they were looking for.
I agree. This was the thread that convinced me not to wait til Nov. 9-16 for the M1 Max 16 I was able to pick up with ease today (after waking up at 4:30 A.M., then 5:30 a.m., and finally 6:30 a.m. to await the great unlocking of in-store pick-up around 7:45. Ordered, picked up my 16 at 11:30 a.m. (before I'd have gotten any delivery from UPS today anyway), and have been loving it ever since. Thanks, folks!

I originally ordered a 16' Macbook Pro 32gb/1tb which wouldn't be delivered until Dec 3rd. I was on the border about the 32gb of ram not sure if I needed it since my 13 Macbook Pro M1 was doing fine. I just picked up the 16" Macbook Pro 16gb/1tb at the Apple Store and I am super happy with it and saved some money.
