Just want to post that I have had my 8GB installed in my 13" MBP for almost three weeks now and I have had NO problems.

Going from 2GB to 8GB has been dream! It feels like an entirely new computer! I can finally play SC2 and have iTunes open and Mail and all the apps I normally use with NO slowdown or choppiness after I close the game!

Before I had to restart before and after playing. Now I can play as much as I want and not have to restart! I even left my laptop on for over a week without restarting and playing on it heavily! (I restarted because I had a page out when using the Blizzard Installer and I wanted to see how long I could go without a page out. I still had free RAM, so it must have been how the installer just worked!)

I am so glad so much efficiency can come from an upgrade like this!

Had mine in for a week and just today had multiple app crashes, my VM would not load, tried to reboot and OSX just froze. Removed the RAM and put back in the factory RAM and all is good again. Time to RMA this garbage.

Went with 8GB of GSkill in a mid2010 13", opted to try and run DDR3 1333 because I wanted to be able to swap it to a new 2011 MBP eventually. Welp, no go. Doesn't boot, guess I need to get the 1066.

^ it's good to hold onto old ram though in case your new ram fails for any reason. I've dealt with this before

I have the 1333 G.Skill in my 15" i5, works like a champ. I guess the 13" C2D is not as flexible.

OWC RAM working fine still. Although a new test with Rember throws up some errors and fails the test.

Not sure what the error codes were, but i havent noticed any problems.

This guy right here right: G.SKILL 8GB (2 x 4GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Laptop Memory Model F3-10666CL9D-8GBSQ ?

I'm placing the order on Monday for the RAM. If the price is still the current price of $99 w/ free shipping I think I'm just going to order

Actually that's not the kit I got - I bought the DDR3 1066 memory kit, because it matches the factory-placed specs. Heads up - some folks have reported mixed results running 1333 memory in current-gen MBPs, so be aware of that when you make your order.

Honestly, I'd just stick with the factory spec of 1066 if I were you, but do what you think is best.

Good luck!

posting back. got the g skill 2 by 4gb. works fine.

easy install, no problems!

it's the ddr3 1066 version.

Can you link to the kit you bought? There are two on Newegg. One says it's for apple and the other doesn't. But people seem to be using either or withou problem on here. Yet in the reviews some people say it didn't work with mac.

The "non-apple labeled one" is what most folks buy. It works just fine.

I bought the Crucial ram for $91 after the 10% off via the code.

Hmmm. There's quite a few reviews though saying it didn't work on their Mac. And G.Skill responded that they needed to but the Apple labeled kit. WhY do you make of that?

I make that I don't buy GSKILL ;) But I do personally know folks running it and it works fine.

If you're unsure, run the "apple specific" ram from them.

I personally purchased the Crucial 8GB for $91. The GSKILL is $85 and the apple gskill is still up over $100 I think.

Read thru those apple GSKILL reviews, still quite a bit of unhappy customers. I honestly don't think you will see any diff. between the apple specific and the normal 1066... I've never bought apple specific ram and come to think of it, I'm honestly not sure I know anybody who has.

If you do go that route make sure to tell me... you'll be the first person I know who did ;)

In August 2010 I paid $239 for Mushkin memory from Newegg. I have a MBP 5,3 2.8GHz.

Mushkin Enhanced 8GB (2 x 4GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM Dual Channel Kit Memory for Apple

They work great so far.
