Come on guys, I'm as keen as anyone to get my new machine but whipping this up into a frenzy isn't going to help.

Apple have pretty much the best supply-chain operation in the world and I'm sure they will get our machines to us as soon as possible. For all we know there may be a shortage of non-US keyboards or their could be customs delays or there could be delays with logistics partners causing the US to receive goods first. But all that aside, the simple fact is that nothing is actually "late" yet.

I'm not trying to wind anyone up here by the way. Just try not to spoil the experience of what is a pretty major purchase for most folks with unjustified negativity. Heaven knows there is enough negativity in the world right now.

I see keyboards were discussed above but consider that this is a new keyboard design and parts will be initially in short supply. For example, I still have an iPad Pro 12.9" with US keyboard layout because the UK version did not become available until about 9 months after release.

By the way, I have been charged fully, i.e. my charge is no longer Pending on my account. That means that apple have my money earning interest without anything to show for it. This also adds to the bad feeling in my eyes.

I don't understand this:

Is it really necessary to deliver US customers 5 day prior to their delivery window when the EU one basically starts in a few hours? I mean cool for him, but come on...

When did they take the money? I mean the actually settlement, not the pre-auth. This should mean that dispatch is imminent.

That's at least something! When did the pending charge occur? I just looked and mine from 11th is still pending.

Sorry to get your hopes up but I was only Pending for about 2 hours on Friday and then it went fully charged. I have had this before on my card, for some reason it takes the money earlier than it should, so I wouldn't bank on it meaning anything yet :(

Just to add, this could be nothing to do with apple and all to do with my card issuer

Looking back on my 2 BTO MacBook Air i7 deliveries in 2014 they both arrived within a week from China. One came from Shenzen via Almaty, Kazakhstan and Köln, Germany to UK the other from Shanghai to Heathrow on a Virgin Atlantic passenger flight.
Seven days from receiving the shipping email from Apple...

The pre-auth on my card (from the 11th) has now dropped off.
God dammit! I just looked at my account again ( I haven't actually looked at it today) and the completed charge has been removed and the Pre Auth has also gone too!

WTF!
[doublepost=1479227374][/doublepost]AND
my available balance has gone back up to what it was before the charge

I think that they are going to ship your MacBooks.. You might be the lucky ones :)
it's unlikely if the charges have been removed, it could just be that the charges only stay on your account as pending for a certain time before they are removed, or something. That's even more reason to suspect they won't ship soon

My PayPal Credit is still Authorised and Pending.

As an explanation, the Pending charge is a security that you have sufficient funds on your payment method to pay for the whole order. They stay for a while in order for Apple to see whether your balance will change drastically so you wont be able to pay off.

If you ask me it makes more sense that they have removed it before shipping and an actual charge is imminent

Normally when the charge your creditcard, they ship the same day. Now we wait since Friday. They clearly use a different way of processing the orders, or they don't want us to have the MacBooks yet.

Whoa,.. what bank? Interest has been terrible for years ;) And banks don't give interest when you have more than an X amount in the bank, so I wouldn't count on Apple receiving a lot of interest on your order ;)

True, but it's a principle thing. It was my Amex card that this was on

The delivery windows seem to have already started for a few, and nothing

They still have some days.. we just have to try to give them some time..

Did there pending charge correspond to the total amount of the Mac? A transition of 1EUR is pending on my CC, but I can't see any information about it !
They created a pending charge of 1EUR when I created the order just to check the validity of my CC, but after some days they refunded me.. and now here it is!

I had the same thing, £1 taken when I ordered which was removed, then the full amount last Friday

I ordered the 13" 512GB with 16 RAM and I've had the reservation for the full amount since Friday. My delivery window is set to be 16-23 Nov. Order is still processing.

It has to ship to the Netherlands btw

I do think it's handy that we now have an euro-specific thread, don't have to filter for the information I want!:)

I totally agree with that. Plus as I said, they told me yesterday "They are building the european ones, you'll get it in one week or so". I'm really impatient too, but when you realize the chance you have to even consider buying this computer, you know you can stop complaining for the "delay".
