That's the thing though, this thread wasn't FOR a discussion about whether people agreed with this point of view or not. I asked a reasonable question, to respond with childish condescension belies you as a troll looking for a rise. That's fine, you carry on, have fun.

I will also be cancelling if nothing happens by Friday evening. Of course it's not going to do anything to Apple, no one thinks that. Doesn't mean principles should fail though.

I will however be stuck for something to replace it with. Thoughts?

I just realised that I shouldn't be derailing this thread but I will certainly look at that, as well as the surface book. Windows is my biggest hurdle to overcome though
Depending on what you plan to do with it, you might want to have a look at a modern Linux distribution, they can be quite OS-X-ish. ;)

To be honest , I'm almost certainly going to get the top spec 2015 model , better machine in my opinion, and with the £1000 ....

I have a 2012 I want to upgrade, if my machine was 2013 + I would not even bother

The non replaceable SSD has almost sealed the deal...

Erm, and? This is appears to be going to Canada, not Europe.

No, not my! It's from a US guy from the other thread. But it is "born" in USA without a trace before US.
Oh I see your point. Yes, lots of US and Canadian customers ordering stock models had theirs despatched from within the US. No BTOs, though. Which means when ours finally ship they will come all the way from China and take bloody ages.

That's a tough call. I had a late 2013 machine but sold it before WWDC in the hope they would release new ones, so I've been without one since then. I could get a previous generation model top spec but I'm not sure I'd be happy. Not saying it's the wrong thing to do, but the new one does suit my needs. I don't need massive storage in it, and the 16GB RAM will do for a long time for me. So if I were to change it would be to something new with current gen parts. Im just hoping the MacBook gets here soon and I don't need to worry about that.

Yes sure, but something must be different for Europe. What's the reason that we have no trace of our MacBooks? Not enough output from facility?

Maybe they will really shipped from within Europe.

They're going to have to now if they want a chance of meeting their delivery windows

This silence from Apple is ridiculous... I kind of feel like MacRumors should write a blog post calling them out on this.
It would be nice, but unfortunately it will have to be until after our slots (i.e. from the 25th) before anyone will take any notice.

I have to pick my sister up from the airport at 1 am, so I came to the city in time to place my order with a retailer before 9. My cards were declined so no order and i'm stuck waiting at the airport for 3 hours. Now I agree, the new MBP sucks o_O

The fact that the CS either don't know anything or are directly avoiding the conversation is also grounds for being cautious in our optimism. If there's a problem with import or production, I feel like they should just come out and say it. Otherwise, they're just stringing us on.

Agreed, its ridiculous, but any complaints now would just be ignored and miss the point about the inequality etc.

It's so damn frustrating though.

Yeah, until the first shipping window is missed (I hope that doesn't happen, of course), we have "no right to complain." Which sucks. I'd like to see at least one European order bumped up. Just one. Instead of the hundreds of US ones.
