MacBook Pro Launch February 12th?

I guess this does not bode well for a new MBP for the 12th
Amen. Kinda glad for the iPhone junkies/fanboys but where is the love for the MBP/Professional hardware and equipment for the fast paced ever changing multimedia world users that need new hardware for do their work effectively.
I wouldn't be whining if I was on a SR MBP with a 200GB 7200 rpm drive but I am not. My measly 120GB drive isn't keeping up and my limit on RAM is driving me nuts!

I'm stuck on a 1 GHz iBook G4 with 640 MB of RAM (which is the highest I can get) and a 55 GB hard drive!!!!! I'm running 10.4.11, no leopard! If I set the computer down on any surface just slightly too hard it shuts down! AND the plastic on both of the lower corners has broken off! WHERE IS THE NEW MBP APPLE?!!!WHERE IS THE NEW MBP APPLE?
Buy a refurb. Now. Save the stress, save a big chunk of cash, and get a great machine, now.
HECK NO! I would never buy a refurb, where is the fun in that?!!? If I crack and buy one now it will be the 15 inch 2.6, 200 HD, with 4GB RAM!
I do have a question about this though....If I do manage to wait (which is what I plan to do) and the new one comes out, and I don't like it for some reason, will I still be able to buy the machine I described above, or only a base model that they would still have in stock at some random store??

Whoa, Apple have announced/updated a crapload of stuff this year, and it's only February! Sooner or later they'll run out of stuff and they'll HAVE to announce the MBP!
I am very much anticipating the arrival of the new MBP! Regardless, my friends chill out a little! Every Tuesday it is the same anticipation and then someone says - oh it's next week. I am guessing March or April and once they are deployed then comes the complaint list of what they do or do not have. I am not being abrupt but I have learned not to wait anxiously without sufficient evidence.

also noticeably still absent though is no os 10.5.2, which im sure will come out before the macbook pros. we certainly will see that first THEN the mbps.. this way yea, they can proclaim holiness by using THAT as a feature of the new MBPs. I hear it will also come with a set of speakers built in and wireless! wooo

So impatient. Go start your own computer and software firm, then you can have all the stuff you want when you want. In the mean time be grateful that there is a company that listens to its customers and makes quality products.
Penryn will be in the MBP soon. But no doubt you will want Montevina (or whatever is scheduled next) and a new form factor and 8 FW ports and and and [head explodes]

iuse mbp for logic, and i need the extra power... trust me i usa alot of plug ins.... and im gonna need to edit HDef film on the road
i have 3 different artists in 3 different countys

You haven't bought it yet?? Yes, now's a great time to get a Mac Pro. They can hold off the MBPs until summer for all I care - that way when I buy it, it'll still be new
Actually, no...I'm not going to want 8FW ports, etc...or wait for Montevina. So, don't make assumptions about what other people will want.
Am I impatient - no. Why? Because I've been wanting to buy a MBP for 1 year now. At the time, I was waiting for Santa Rosa & LED...then, I bought a different expensive toy and had to wait. Starting in November, I was ready to upgrade but waited for MacWorld. Anyways, I think that would qualify for being patient.
Am I upset that the updates weren't released/announced today? Yes...but more so b/c I've been obsessing over the updates ever since MacWorld, which, admittedly, is my own doing.
Anyways, enough of addressing your post...we're all waiting for the updated MBP so let's not bicker with each other and hope it comes soon!
I don't know if anyone posted this (I didn't see it when I was skimming over the replies, at least), but... who knows, have hope, ye faithful. Or something like that.
