Yeah, why not? :D

17" 2.35:1 here we come!

That can be too wide for some people but I can see some people might enjoy this.

Yeah, you are a quick hand with photoshop and I see you are getting the IDEA :D

But why stop here?

We want wide-wide-wide-screen!
The wider the better! The wider the better!

I know this has nothing to do with the design of the macbook pro but i was reading article posted on tuaw.com and they reported that apple sent a email out to all stores telling them to remove all apple tv's by september 30, which is a tuesday, and there will be a webcast "kick of" event on tuesday. i wonder if they will also include the new macbooks in this "kick of event":D

I highly doubt this is true. I see no reason for Apple to tell a reseller to get rid of all of their Apple TVs. What does it matter whether or not the resellers still have what could potentially end up being, "old" Apple TVs? Apple would still release new ones and they would sell regardless of whatever leftovers are remaining. Perhaps Apple is recalling the Apple TV but this doesn't explain the webcast mentioned. I don't think the Apple TV information and the webcast information is suppose to share the same article.

Well, it is just so that these typewriters with their single-line display were so unbelievable wide-screen.

Why not go all the way instead of stopping at 16:9?

The manufacturer can advertise huge screen-diagonals at virtually no cost!

Honestly, I am pretty much joking, however the current 'trend' to ever wider displays seems like a plot to sell the customer more for less. Instead of 1920x1200 they give you 1920x1080 and sell it at a premium...

Haha, good points. But I do like widescreen, so much more natural on the eyes. THere is a balance, like with everything.

You're right. If a new product is released, the only indicator that a reseller gets is notice a few weeks in advance telling them about an upcoming shortage of stock, suggesting the reseller stock up on the product. In this way, Apple CLEARS OUT their stock, rather than getting loaded up with it before it gets replaced.

Only Apple would make the speakers that big.

Yes, and keep them at laptop quality.

Just imagine the sound and the quality of the sound coming from the speakers.

They would be great quality, but you wouldn't be able to hear them, like on the current model. The 17" speakers are pretty good, but if anything louder than they is near, you won't hear much.

A fullsized keyboard would be more appropriate.

Yes, but I'd rather not have that off center look that many PC makers have. The 17" Acer Gemstone does it well, but it's still off center though.

Please say it ain't so! Man, I hope he's dead wrong on ALL these accounts except for the glass trackpag...which I'm ambivalent about. I'd have to try it out to have an opinion. NO to losing FW 400! No to Air's keyboard! Rather not have a split trackpad....is control+click really that hard?

I was looking at a MBP in a store today and comparing it to the Air & MB...and it REALLY stands out in a class of its own. Its a beautiful design, the best they've ever done in that line...its almost perfection imo. I'd really like to see the overall essence of that case remain the same, perhaps w/ minor tweaks here & there.

Things I'd like to see:

  • More RAM (at least the option to go to 8gb.
  • Speedbump 2.6 + up would be a start
  • Larger HDs...at least offer the 320 (or better yet 500gb) @ 7200 as BTO
  • GPU that is not alleged to be faulty from the manufacturer
  • KEEP the FW 400 & DVI ports
  • KEEP the Matte option
  • KEEP the keyboard (or better yet same design only aluminum)
  • KEEP 16:10 ratio (its a PRO computer not a TV)

Is this too much to ask?!? I think my wishlist is all within the realm of possibilities although not necessarily the general consensus. Obviously I was not too thrilled w/ Mr. O'Grady's report. I can only hope its more false rumours as we've yet to see a photo that would support his claims.

I agree with you completely mate. Is it too much to ask for the MacBook Pro to reach the 3.0GHz barrier?

Agreed. It is hot but how do you really fit a logic board like previous poster asked?
I suppose they could flatten off the inside ,maybe..... but that would be silly , no? ..oh hang on , that's not such a bad idea having thought again , this flattened off part inside would be able to create a cavity space .....a layer of insulation against shock it may provide ...just a thought

Glass keys

So I'm guessing nobody liked my idea for glass keys on the key board since it got zero comments:D

So I got on the web to see if anything like this was around already. I found a picture of a concept keyboard for a PC desktop. Not what I was talking about but would be just as cool. plus with the iPhone/iTouch technology it's so do-able
