So I'm guessing nobody liked my idea for glass keys on the key board since it got zero comments:D

So I got on the web to see if anything like this was around already. I found a picture of a concept keyboard for a PC desktop. Not what I was talking about but would be just as cool. plus with the iPhone/iTouch technology it's so do-able

nah , I personally wouldn't like it , not (any?) enough feedback to my fingertips ...that said keyboards will go this way eventually , just look at the iPhone it has one now of sorts....
I read something a while ago now about a keyboard that was superimposed onto any surface , that will be ok like the glass I suppose
Me , I like the MB keyboard or a sprung keyboard , nice :D

Yeah, why not? :D

17" 2.35:1 here we come!

How about a 12" widescreen with multi-touch display?

I personally would not want that prototype. I would want individaul keys.
Although that one would look good with a fully glassed iMac.

yeah and how do you use the trackpad
Touch screen?
No, Apple just began making the trackpad cooler, they won'T skip it now
just fyi, a 12 inch glass is expensive , the mac would cost you at LEAST 2.5-3 grand

Yes, I said multi-touch screen display.
Don't really know how much a larger multi-touch display would cost...

Well how about eye-tracking then? the iSight(s) could determine where you're looking at and highlight that spot somehow. Then you can have pupil-actions, for example, you look away from the screen and the screen saver starts, etc.
:p:rolleyes:;)

This could be a very real possibility in the future because I found out the other day that touchscreens can have tactile feedback. The Blackberry thunders keyboard apparently allows you to feel the keys

We can stop with the MacBook Fugly mockups now.... please.

I think the original artist meant it as a joke. If she/he didn't then I feel real sorry for them.

p.s. If there was glass in the next Apple portable I wouldn't buy until they took it out. I would hate to see the flaws with that machine.

Random thought....

We're not thinking outside the box. I was just sitting here thinking to my self...
If Steve Jobs Anodized the Alu. then any of the "books" could be any color. They would also have a better protective coating on them.

I don't see this happening but I am sure it could be done. It would also be cool to have your mb/mbp match yo

It doesn't matter if the first one was meant as a joke or not. Once an idea spreads then others mutate the idea into others and then the mockups flow! :D
Keep on brainstorming people!

It's only a bit wider than the 13.3" 16:10 Macbook.
For the same inch, 2.35:1 is only 8.5% wider than 16:10. But it's 64% the height.

I actually do want see multi-coloured MacBooks.
Same here. I'd like to have a nice blue aluminum MacBook. Even if the color was only on certain parts of the MacBook (like the outside only), I would like it.

These remind me/could be used as giant iPods for some reason. :D
Speaking of iPods… :D
