I want to be able to to touch my MacBook Pro's screen like my iPhone.
When do you guys think this will happen?
This is one of the things I really don't wanna do. Think of all the smudges on pretty screen.

I haven't read the entire thread, but the image related to this article is definitely a fake.
Notice the reflexion at the trackpad, it looks like the dock, and at the screen there is no dock visible.

A smaller trackpad compared to the current macbook pro???
Why?
No problem (although I wasn't trying to correct you. I used those """ to make it clear it wasn't a real reflection)hmm, you're right, I haven't been arround
also reflection is the correct word, thanks.
having the dock at the trackpad is silly.
Okay, I see. You still didn't answer my question as to whether you would trust your entire gig to the magsafe connector?
Maybe not, because magSafe pops out little bit too easily. Connector should tighter.
You know why it pops out so easily?
Would you rather your Mac went flying across the room when someone tripped over the power cord? Or would you rather the power chord just popped out?
I remember when I dropped my iBook and the power adapter broke which then meant paying like 60+ for a new one. So I love the magsafe
I remember when I plugged in my Macbook and the cable went up in flames near the brick. I rarely ever rolled the cable around the foldable hooks because I knew it would damage the cable. But there was a blue flame and then a green flame (or vice versa), probably the different materials burning up in sequence...
Apple needed 2 weeks to determine that they wouldn't replace it (was still under warranty) because supposedly I used it wrong. Ended up paying 79 EUR for a new one and sold the broken one on eBay. Luckily, somone had the same burn near the magsafe connector and bought mine for 30 bucks to make one out of two.
Still... stuff should not produce fire when plugged in... and cost so much to replace!

Uh, this really looks bad!
Apart from the hassle, this could be a real hazard. Just imagine this happening when you leave the MacBook to charge on your sofa over night...
What happened to the famous Apple MagSafe replacement program?
http://blog.smalldog.com/article/1262/magsafe-power-adapter-exchange-program/
Mine was before that announcement. Even if it was after, it took them 2 weeks to determine that they wouldn't exchange it. And I needed a power brick so I left the sore with a new one.
Guess why I don't let my laptop charge unsupervised... my Macbook's first two batteries bulged up, i.e. one of the battery elements inside blew up and the battery was very thick and hot afterwards. Oh and my desk has some acid marks now![]()
2 weeks- understandably you needed a new one. After all, without a powersupply it is only a nice piece of furniture...
A big cable-killer are office chairs with castors. However, in my over ten years of using notebooks I have never seen something like this. They should really get a new supplier for the cables!
Is MacRumours not pretty much based on fiction?
Apple always surprises us at the end.

Now on the mac tablet rumors: no. I know everyone would LOVE a tablet from Apple. The one company that could do it proper justice. But think about the use for a tablet. Photoshop, gimp, etc etc These programs have a heavy requirement for tablets with a stylus. Im pretty sure the populous on this forum wants a macbook with touch sensitive screen in other words an iphone like screen that users can launch programs and resize pictures. This would not be a practical tool for someone using photoshop; the iphone screen can be at times 'janky' when using you fingers to play games. It would require a lot of tweaks and final improvements before it could ever be used for such precision that photo/video editors would require.
Thats my two cents. Take it or leave it.
