is there any for Unibody?
mine fits just terrible into a CAseLogic... and already got a scratch from the zipper. sucks

I have to second the sfbags.com waterfield. You'll never go back :D. I had one for my MBP1 and just got one for the new uni. Fits like a dream.

Does anyone use a keyboard cover inside the laptop? Incase the screen gets damaged during transit? Because I noticed apple had put a piece of foam inside the laptop. Seems a bit bothersome to always put that foam back in before closing and also i dont thinkth at piece of foam will alst long so was thinking where to buy somwething similar? thanks

First they said ships last week of November, then it was First week of December and now their site for the M3 says that orders placed today ship end of Jan 09. Not for me thanks.

Contrast this with ordering a Waterfield SFBags sleeve online last night after they were closed and
getting a notification this morning that it will ship their time tonight.

Booq's sleeves for the new MBP are out:

Vyper M3
Taipan

Yes this is the same sleeve as the one that I purchased. I purchased at Fry's and they were out of stock on the grey so I choose the mustard yellow one. This is after they had stock on the Unibody MBP so that I could test fit it in the store. There is enough streach in the cover that I can zip it with out dragging the zipper body on the machine.

Cool, thanks.

How is the fit when you stretch the zipper liner around the computer? Too tight or does it easily slip over the edges of the computer to protect from the zipper?

Also looking at the black colcasac as well as the chocolate foof...but im concerned about two things:

1) Is the sherpa wool really that soft (doesnt look very soft)?

2) Dont the fibers shed into your macbooks ports/screen area?

I love the RadTech sleeves. Thin but strong, mine does just what I need it to do, protect my MBP from scratches while in my bag. It's stretchy, so no zippers to mess with/worry about. I picked it up at MacWorld 2007 and it looks as good as the day I bought it. Doesn't look worn at all, and hasn't loosened up from the stretching.

Is it a pain sliding the sleeve off and on?

IE. The sleeve MBP's come shipped in. I am using that temporarily, and it is a pain. Is it anything like that?

Which Caselogic do you have?

the one with extra .. "drawer"? sleeve? with zippers on two sides

i bought tucano 2nd skin. (for older one i guess) it has nice zipper protection. its alright, dont matter if its not made for unibody, its still awsome

From what I remember, it's nothing like the sleeve the MBP comes in. The RadTech sleeve is about the thickness of, say, t-shirt material, but stiffer. It feels rather chamois-like. And tough, as I said before.

It's not a pain to me to take it off. It hugs the laptop, so you can't just grab the laptop and pull it out of the sleeve. I'll try to describe this...not sure how successful I'll be :)

The sleeve is made so the laptop slides in from the front or back, not the sides (the long side is the opening). So, when it's in the sleeve, I will set the laptop down on it's back edge, hold the laptop by the sides and push my hands down. The sleeve material kind of "crumples" or bunches up as it slides down. I then grab the laptop from the front edge (the edge I've just exposed) with one hand and grab the sleeve on the opposite side with my other hand and pull it off.

It appears to be somewhat waterproof. Again, it's not going to protect a laptop from any kind of shock or drop. It's meant to protect from scratches, dings, dirt, and possibly spilled liquid if you don't spill near the opening and can remove the laptop quickly from the sleeve.

I'll make the recommendation I always do. I've had one of these for several years for my 12" Powerbook and it looks like new. I got one with a flap for my GlassBook and its awesome too.

I second this recommendation. I got the one with the flap and also got the shoulder strap and piggyback.

I left the MacbookPro (late 08) in the sleeve going through TSA with no problems.

I just have a TSA question: there's a zipper in my pants, and there is a zipper around my laptop sleeve. If the metallic zipper makes the difference, then why don't I have to take my !@^# out?

your macbook pros shipped with a sleeve from the factory??

Mine didn't...

He's talking about that paper thin sheet around the macbook when you first open the box; the one you need to open up to get to the actual macbook.

For my MBP Unibody, I went with the Tucano Second Skin for 15.4. This is a glove like fit... no slop at at all. Is a microfiber outside, foam center, soft inner. Comes with a keyboard microfiber cover.

I have one of these as well (but in gray). It is snug but fits very well. It also has a "flap" on the inside which fits over the edge of the laptop to make sure the inside of the zipper cannot scratch the laptop.
