MacBook Pro Space Bar Help!

Having issues with the space bar as it hard to click. What can i do? Can i reassign space bar to and unused key like command right? Thank you.

Hard to click? Could be a piece of cloth or something stuck underneath, have you checked it?

I've opened the key and the there isn't anything under it. Can I re assign the space to another unused key?

Replace the keyboard. You can buy one on eBay for $25.

Take it to the Genius Bar and they can replace the Top Case for you.

Top case is expensive. Keyboard is cheap.

Is it easy to replace the key if i purchase the replacement part?

Have you removed the key and checked it is seated properly? Also, is the little metal clip that runs underneath the key in the correct slots? If the clip is off, the space key will work fine if you press in the center, but wobble and be hard to press if you press off center.

Another thing to check for is gunk in the plastic pieces. People do dumb thing like eat or drink over their keyboard, and over time food and liquids can get stuck in these pieces. There are several videos on YouTube that show you how to remove keys and clean these pieces.
